We arrived in Colmar past lunch time, and saw a long lineup at Jadis so we lined up for it. A staff came out and said kitchen was closed and they could only serve drinks and dessert; however my French husband asked him again, the staff went in to check, and came back to take us in.
We ordered lunch, and felt very lucky. We were treated well despite it being packed solid.
The food (Alsace style, my husband’s favorite) was amazing. It was generously proportioned and filling. Dessert was great as well.
There might be some misunderstanding about the lunch serving time, but we were thankful they got us in. We enjoyed the food and dessert. Price was fair for the quality and size. If you love Alsace style food you would love this restaurant. This remains one of the best meals I had on this trip.

Cozy atmosphere and kind service. The food had good flavors.
But the meat ruined everything!
It was so tough that I couldn’t even cut it with a knife. The staff said sorry, but I lost my appetite. I ended up eating bread and drinking wine.

We had a really good meal here there was no english language menu but the waiter was more than happy to explain every dish . I had a very good potato and cheese salad and my partner had a fantastic salmon quiche. And we finished off with maybe the best lemon meringue pie I’ve ever had. Overall a great experience

I know well this restaurant and I come regularly when family and friends are visiting. There is no online reservation, but we got a table anyway. Out of 3 persons, only one wanted a main course menu, the other two wanted to taste the desserts and everyone wanted drinks. The waiter refused to serve us if not everyone is eating. For me, this is forced sale by a restaurant that is benefiting from excellent reviews and reputation. Quel dommage !

Came for lunch with a group of 7 and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was good but not great, but we were looking for Alsatian food and a cozy winter vibe (we were there for the Christmas market) and this place was perfect. The service was also top notch. Our server was warm and friendly. Best thing we ordered was the osso buco (was on the “specials” chalkboard)!

First time to Colmar, arrived late in the afternoon thinking to get lunch before restaurants closed by 2.30pm, was recommended by the apartment owner about this place specializing in Alsatian cuisine, saw it and rushed in, was unlucky to enter through a wrong door which was used by the staff for delivering food (no English sign was there) and the lady owner Sophie asked us to go out to enter from the correct door (despite we were already standing at the waiting area).
Ok, I followed her instruction yet she made me to stay out and waited by the sign, 2 mins later she asked me to go find a seat at the other side of the street (not escorted by any of her staff), so we needed to assured the staff there that it was Sophie asked us to go over then only we got seated ♀️
Luckily the male server was friendly and explained to us in English about the menu of the day and took time to explain on the menu too, we got our order and enjoyed our food & wine.
But it’s a real bad reception experience by Sophie.

Unfortunately , our experience was quite disappointing. We stopped to ask if the place was open and if a table was available. The waitress responded with repeated ‘Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour,’ continuing to speak French without trying to understand us. Her tone was rude, and she looked at us in an annoyed way before leaving us standing at the entrance without any further assistance. We didn’t feel welcome at all.
