Wow, first time trying this place per my co-worker talking about it everytime saying how much he loves this place so I decided to go after class and he sure was right! I will probably become a regular customer now! I got the Black mushroom chicken and two egg rolls for lunch, I normally don’t like egg rolls because I think they are overkilled with black pepper but these have a perfect balance, they are huge!! And very fresh tasting! Thank you!

Large menu selection, large portions, quiet place to dine in, friendly service. Food is different than you typical fast-food chain. Homemade egg rolls instead of the kind I can buy @ Sams Club. Meals are served in a homestyle fashion with extra plates so you can easily share entrees with others at your table.

I would like to start out by saying I am not a very picky eater. I eat almost anything presented to me. This is the first time I have ever thrown everything away that we have ordered. The egg drop soup looked like it had been sitting on a counter for many days and had no color to it. My husband ordered the orange chicken and it had no orange flavor and was dried out. The cashew chicken was what I ordered and I walked out of the kitchen and walked back in before I tried it and it smelled like cat pee. I tried two bites and it had a spoiled taste. The rice had a dirty taste to it. It’s probably been since 2020 since we had Jade Garden and probably won’t be back.

The food was great. The online ordering was super convenient, and we picked a little later pickup time so we could get the kids to bed, and when I showed up early, it wasn’t quite ready yet. It’s nice when a place honors the time you requested so you know the food is fresh.
I forgot what a cool looking place it is. It was very clean and the owner was the one that helped me. This place is seriously delicious! If you need Chinese in Ankeny, this place to go!

This place used to be the best. Now they are overpriced and the quality of food has gone down with the prices going up. It’s sad because they support the community. I don’t see them lasting more than a couple more years unless they go back to the way it was. Good quality food and lower prices.

I ordered the Crab Rangoons and General Tso’s chicken with white rice, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! The General Tso’s chicken was one of the best I’ve ever tried. Tender slices of white meat stir-fried with a generous mix of broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, and black-skinned mushrooms—it packed a delightful punch of heat that left me wanting more.
The Crab Rangoons were equally delightful, perfectly crispy and accompanied by both sweet-and-sour sauce and spicy mustard. And to complement the meal, I enjoyed a cup of delicious jasmine tea.
The staff was not only friendly but also very attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. This restaurant has that old-school charm that’s hard to find nowadays, making it a gem in the neighborhood.

Ordered pickup. I’m the least picky person on the planet and absolutely hate wasting food. First time I’ve ever had to throw away food in my life. Soggy disgusting orange chicken and sesame chicken. Flavorless noodles. Felt like I was on Fear Factor. Had to toss.

Terrible food. We ordered Sesame Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein and Crab Ragoons. The Sesame Chicken was very salty and tasted old. The Chicken Lo Mein lacked flavor except for the peanut oil. The Crab Ragoons also tasted salty and old. We ate a little bit of the food and set it to the side. A couple of hours later we both had terrible upset stomachs.
The restaurant looked nice and the service was quick and professional but the food was terrible and we threw it away.
