Jade Garden has got to be the best Chinese restaurant that I’ve ever been to. The food was icreadible, the staff were very happy and congenial (go Tiegan -sp?). This was the cleanest Chinese restaurant I have ever seen. The booth, tables and tiling were so clean. They looked factory-new. The lighting was immaculate. I just simply can not find enough good things to say about this restaurant and it’s staff. Oh, and the food prices were incredibly inexpensive. So impressed!!

Had a pretty nice experience here. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. I tried the beef noodle soup and a combo platter—both were great value for the price, with generous portions and solid flavor. On top of that, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience.

I hate to be the one to say this, but I ate the Ying yang shrimp today around 5:30 pm and now I am experiencing food poisoning symptoms. I have never had food poisoning before and I hope to never experience this again! Stay away from seafood at this establishment!

I went in craving orange chicken and left questioning my life choices. The orange chicken somehow tasted like fish (???), which was not on the menu. After a few bites we genuinely worried about food poisoning, so we waved the white flag and left the rest on the table. If you’re into mystery flavors and living on the edge, this might be your place — but I will absolutely not be back

Greasy and overly salty food, inedible, I expected better. This is not good Chinese food, nor authentic, I don’t understand why this place has been so highly rated. I’m not sure if this is normal or the place went downhill. Just outside the restaurant was an old lady with a mouth of missing teeth. The server was somewhat pleasant, while appearing to hide a deep sadness. The rest of the staff also appears to either be unhappy to be there or dismissive. The order came incorrect and had to be sent back. The smell within the restaurant is of greasy old oil embedded in the walls and the decor is drab, overly bright, and minimal at best, almost like a surgery room lighting with barely any Chinese decor. I would also be unhappy to work in this place, but the food is definitely the worst part, sadly. This is typical for this area of Montana but i was hoping this place would be different. It would be better to go hungry than eat here, honestly.

Terrible. I can’t believe this. I been to jade garden many times throughout my life due to growing up here and it was always decent or pretty good. Last night I ordered Mongolian beef, the chicken trio, and a bunch of fried rice, alone with crab ragoons and it just was honestly disgusting. Like. I couldn’t believe it. The chicken was 80 percent vegetables and maybe 20 percent chicken. The beef was okay but still not great. The crab ragoons had just a disgusting fishy seafood after taste. I honestly hope I don’t get food poisoning it just didn’t taste right. The fried rice was okay but it’s not as good as I remeber. It was like stale. A lot of the rice was kind of hard to the chew. I think this place might be getting to about the end of its life. Honestly not sure how they are still in business serving food like this. Also not to be rude or judgmental but the hosts just seems kind of weird. Like the one dude just looked completely emo. Like damn I thought this was a Chinese place. Just a weird atmosphere overall for a Chinese restaurant. I’m not even angry at all I’m just being honest with this experience. I am just a bit disappointed because I always remembered the food being pretty great. But this time it was just gross. Like actually gross. And it was pretty expensive too. Around 70 dollars.
P.S. When I called to place an order I got put on hold for about 10 minutes. I can’t remember the last time I’ve called a restaurant and been placed on hold for this long. Or been placed on hold at all. Just seemed very unprofessional. This isn’t like some 5 star restaurant. And then once I got there, there was literally only one other customer there?? Like this is very crazy to me.
If you want Chinese food you may as well go to Panda Express I guess at this point.

Good Chinese food, but ownership here needs to figure something out. We went on a Monday for lunch. It was fairly busy here, but not packed. The servers were doing their best but were slammed. The food came out within a reasonable time. However, there were huge trays of dirty dishes throughout the restaurant waiting to be bussed. There were also lots of flys inside the dining room. I hope the kitchen was not in the same shape.
They have a big menu with something for everyone. The food was fine but lacked the refinement of authentic Chinese.

This was my first time Herr after 7 years of curiosity from reading previous reviews. Maybe we got lucky by choosing an early dinner when things were still fresh? Well, I really enjoyed it, especially because of the lack of Asian dining options in Helena. We split a main dish combo and it was more than enough food and it was delicious!!
