Jade Asian took over the previous buffet restaurant. We had their buffet before and it was good enough for the price. We were really excited that Jade Asian offer variety of sichuan food on the menu so we went in to try on Sunday evening. We didn’t have high expectations but man we are so happy with the two dishes we ordered! We got fatty beef mala dry pot extra spicy and chengdu spicy chicken. Their mala dry pot tastes 100x better than mala kungfu and mala town. We usually had to go to town for authentic mala dry pot at Mala Restaurant in Allston or 5 Spice House in Chinatown or Cambridge. We are super happy now we don’t have to drive into town to satisfy our cravings. They also made it extra spicy which I love. If you don’t know what to order from the menu try the chengdu spicy chicken.

I stopped in for the lunch buffet and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were warm, fast, and attentive—empty plates were cleared quickly and waters stayed topped up the whole time. The spread had a nice balance of fresh salads, hot entrées, soups, and bite-size appetizers, so it was easy to sample a little of everything without feeling rushed. Everything I tried tasted freshly made and well-seasoned, and the buffet area was kept tidy and replenished.

The food was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it and it made me fall in love with Asian cuisine all over again. The restaurant was quiet, with plenty of parking, and it’s a great spot overall. In addition to the buffet, they also offer a variety of drinks and cocktails, along with Szechuan dishes and sushi.

Yesterday was my first and last time at Jade Asian. The food was cold and clearly had been sitting out for a long time. They give you drinks out of the can only even when dining in. We did dine in. The waitress did not interact with us, only got 1 plate for each of us. We paid 58$ and then were pressured to leave a BIGGER tip. I’ve never experienced anything close to that kind of service and we always tip more than 20%. Also, the staff was cleaning (vacuuming) under us while we ate. Just weird.

This is my FAVORITE Asian buffet. I have been going here for YEARS – – it’s always been known as YUTAKA buffet. I worried when the name changed. NO PROBLEMS. The selection of foods is not as great as some other buffets, but the PLUS HERE is that each item is made OFTEN and brought out in small quantities so everything is FRESH. Today is my SECOND time here since the name change – – ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL – – Best GREEN BEANS anywhere around. The fried shrimp is EXCEPTIONAL and unlike most places. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the WONDERFUL staff. Keep up the good work.

Took a chance on a new Chinese place on Christmas Day. Risky but it paid off. The food at Jade Asian was fresh and delicious. We got two different Lo meins, wings, crab Rangoon, beef and broccoli, and scallion pancakes. Not one complaint. So glad we found a new option for Chinese food.
