This is my fourth time to NOLA and finally made it to this restaurant. I was not disappointed as everything was phenomenal. Highly recommend the shrimp and alligator cheesecake to start. Our waiter Jonathan was the best, all recommendations were on point, he suggested the short rib and the catfish for my girlfriend. His service was impeccable and was a pleasure to talk to. See if you can get seated with him!

Jacques greeted my family as we arrived at open without a reservation. We were sat right away and after our fantastic server got us started he came over and spoke with us learning we were in town for my graduation at NOBTS. We were given the 5 star treatment. All the food was amazing. We had shrimp, alligator, and sausage cheesecake and crispy brussels sprouts for appetizers. My sister got the jambalya app for here meal. Our entrees were Fried Chicken, Chicken Pontalba, and Paneed Rabbit. For desert we had coconut bread pudding. The food was amazing and huge portions. Our experience was amazing. Thank you Jacques and God bless you!

The 5 of us had plenty of room at a large table but the restaurant itself is a bit cozy. Started with Beef tips ($15.45) and Shrimp & Alligator Cheesecake ($15.45). FANTASTIC!! Ordered the Grouper Ibervilla ($39.95) and the kudos to the chefs on ALL of the dishes but the fish was out of this world. Pistachio Grouper ($39.95) again, fish cooked perfectly. It wasn’t dry which most fish is usually served overcooked. This dish was not. Godzilla ($39.95), Short Rib ($38.95) and Carpet Bagger were prepared with a unique flair. Loved the sides. The entire meal was perfect! Might be a tourist trap but you wouldn’t know it. A lot of locals seemed to enjoy it. Emily was busy but checked on us several times. Make this a stop while visiting NOLA. We did have reservations and were seated promptly. UBER there was easy.

The seafood stuff shrimp lives rent free in my mind. Watermelon mint drink was very memorable. I’ve been eating that cornbread for a week now. It’s so delicious.
Ambience was casual, unfussy. It’s in an adorable area of town, a nice respite from the bustle of Bourbon street. Will return for sure.

Jacques-Imo’s calls itself “Real Nawlins Food” and honestly, that’s no lie. Their food is solid, flavorful, and cooked with care. Over the years, though, my diet has shifted (no pork, no beef), which limited my sides options this visit. I had my eye on the butter beans and m cabbage, but both contained pork, so I settled for the coleslaw and sweet potatoes. My husband ordered the butter beans and rice. He said the beans were salty.

The coleslaw was crisp and refreshing, the sweet potatoes comforting but portioned more like a dollop than a serving. The star, as always, was the fried chicken crispy, juicy, and cooked to perfection. And I can’t forget the complimentary cornbread muffins: warm, moist, and absolutely delicious.

Overall, Jacques-Imo’s remains a dependable spot for authentic New Orleans flavors. If you have dietary restrictions, your options may be a little narrow, but the fried chicken and cornbread alone make the visit worthwhile.

Hard to describe. Cozy. Eclectic. Was with group. Our meals included paneed rabbit, shrimp etouffee, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, alligator cheesecake, calamari, and even fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Great place!

I went here with my twenty-something year old son and a couple of his college friends when he was visiting in town from being in Norfolk, VA in the Navy. My son is a foodie like me and “Jacques-Imo’s” was on my “New Orleans Restaurant Bucket List.” My son chose this restaurant for his first night back in NOLA. The food did not disappoint. I wasn’t too keen on their signature drink which is basically a watermelon mojito (too much watermelon pulp,) but the food we chose made up for it. My son devoured the NOLA bbq shrimp. I had the crawfish etouffee with corn maque choux. We all had a piece of the shrimp, alligator and sausage cheesecake for an appetizer – it was perfecly balanced and savory. They also serve tasty cornbread with your meal. The place is small but decor is cool, funky, and eclectic. I will be returning when I have a chance. The staff are friendly and efficient.

My boyfriend said this was a top 5 meal of his life. We were in NOLA for the weekend and wanted to find an off-the-beaten path spot. Jacque-Imo’s is known by locals, but was a great find! We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but the bar next door had live music and it was just fine to hang out. The fried grit cakes were outstanding and we loved the snails too. My boyfriend god the redfish and I got the grilled grouper. It was all so good and very reasonably priced. Our server, Danny, was so nice and attentive. Definitely a must-visit!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. As someone from the west coast, I’ve never tried anything like it, the atmosphere was very welcoming & warm & the service was amazing.

One of the highlights of our long weekend in New Orleans … every single thing we ordered was amazing! Our waitress was the best and super helpful and informative throughout the meal. We took the streetcar from the French Quarter, had a wreck with a car on the way, had to get off the streetcar and find an Uber somewhere in the Garden District, waited for a table for an hour … it was all worth it!!
