I had the pleasure of being served by Edgar. Fabulous waiter, great dude, wonderful service. I truly enjoyed my meal and experience overall. Thank you.
My 10 year old daughter recommends the Jacques Burger and I recommend the soup. Highly recommended!
We finally got a table (there were only a few guests, it was almost empty-ish) to find out that they had a very different menu offerings than what they had on their own website. I mean very! The did not have any of those, usual, classic french food we were going to order. And almost everything was more expensive. I ended up ordering their fish dish. It took a long time to get my dish… it seemed little long especially considering how the restaurant was still empty-ish at the time ( our reservation was very early).
I was starving by the time my dish came. I took a bite…I could not feel any warmth on the fish & the other ingredients.
I was so shocked that they served cold fish for this high price,
for what? this little tiny cold fish dish?? (and finally someone brought 1 little tiny bread)
I wanted to speak to the waiter to communicate, but he was not around and finally when he was around ,he did not come near our table at all , only checked the other customer and disregarded us. I thought he would come by to ask us the usual question ” how is your meal? how is everything ” But..no.
Finally I spoke to the manager about my dish. He listened and offered to re-do my dish, but at this point, it seemed like we’d better just leave.. from all my foodie experiences (either low or high end )….no point of Re-making the first dish here.
Finally we caught the attention of our waiter, he came and we communicated with him that we spoke to the manager since he never came to our table to check with us.
My husband happened to express little more details about how disappointing the food and the experience were. And as I was getting ready to leave, I was so shocked to hear the waiter’s response to my husband…. he said to my husband “Whatever!”
I could not believe what I just heard…
I was so excited to go out for a good French dinner but I ended up getting some overpriced cold fish meal with one tiny little piece of bread and not being able to eat it after all, and being treated unpleasantly.
We Paid high price for this kind of dining experience…. for Cold fish meal and lamb dish which was just ok and lukewarm…ish!
I still left 1star, for the manager who listened actively, and offered to Re-make my cold fish dinner.
NO star for overall hospitality, food taste( & temperature), menu offerings (this night), portion, and the way this problem was handled
I hope other people whoever come here get better food experience than ours. I just don’t know what we did wrong to be treated like this. Did we not look good enough for their restaurant? Is that because we did not order drinks and more dishes?
Ignored, served with subpar food at this upper east side french restaurant had a really high price tag….
Service: Good 4/5
Vibe: 4/5
We arrived earlier than our reserved time and were seated promptly.
Table is small and not quite comfortable.
Service is good. But I feel like sometimes I had hard time to find the waiter that actually served our table.
I ordered restaurant week menu: Escargot, Hanger Steak, crème brûlée.
Escargot: it was okay, not enough flavors and we had much better escargots in other French restaurants.
Hanger Steak with fries: This was pretty good and we both love it!
Crème brûlée: Average, nothing impressive.
My friend ordered duck confit from the regular menu. It was very dry and hard. Felt like it was cooked and sat there for a long time. Not recommended at all.
