AMAZING!!!!!! Everything was delicious. I walked in after a longggg day at work, and really just need some food and a glass of wine. I didn’t have a reservation but they greatly accommodated me. I had a half of bottle of wine which I loved that that was an option cause I usually drink 2 glasses of wine. I had the escargots, and the flavor was everything. Then I had the steak frites and my steak was cooked just the way I liked it (medium rare). Do dessert I had the chocolate mousse…NO joke, that was the best mousse I ever had and I’m usually not a fan of it. They treated me with some sambuca after they saw I was full lol. Edgar was my waiter. He was patient, consistent, and lovely. I will definitely come back to try out their menu. Don’t hesitate to come. Just come!

The seasonal squash soup was soothing and cozy, like a velvety hug on an autumn day. The beet salad was absolutely delicious and hit the spot.
I had the pleasure of being served by Edgar. Fabulous waiter, great dude, wonderful service. I truly enjoyed my meal and experience overall. Thank you.

Jacques is a wonderful neighborhood gem. The Food and service are both exceptional and the staff go above and beyond. (Thanks to Edgar for accommodating our requests!)
My 10 year old daughter recommends the Jacques Burger and I recommend the soup. Highly recommended!

I live in the neighborhood so I’ve become a regular at the lovely Jacques. My first impression was that the entire staff was friendly, kind, hard working and the food was delicious. As I’ve visited more and more, this could not be more true! Everyone is attentive, caring and will do whatever necessary to give you the best experience. The ambiance is beyond sweet with incredible food. Always decorated for different holidays too. My favorite place in the world!!

Jacques has long been a favorite restaurant for my family, so when it came time to celebrate my daughter‘s first birthday, we couldn’t think of a better spot. I had the pleasure of working closely with Kevin, the general manager, leading up to the party and found all of his communication to be prompt and incredibly helpful. The entire Jacques team went above and beyond on the big day, with the food, beverage, and service all receiving rave reviews from our guests. Jacques is a neighborhood gem and we look forward to celebrating many more happy occasions here.

Came for my boyfriend’s birthday as we have been on a big French food kick after spending time in Paris this year. Everything was so tasty. I had the scallops with a curry sauce, and if you see this on the menu do not skip it. It was very interesting and superbly done. His pork chop was classic, just right, as was the steak tartare appetizer. Finished with a lovely creme brulee. I am only sad that I could not try the moules frites since I have a broken hand that would have made pulling shells apart a tricky job – a reason to return! I wish I had asked our servers name as they were lovely.

We loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. Their onion soup is amazing. We ordered delivery a few times and still very good. My son loves their raspberry sorbet. We like their outdoors. Every time we are in the mood for French cuisine this is the restaurant we choose.

We walked in. It looked pretty empty and did not look busy at all ( our dinner reservation was very early). Yet, it seemed pretty disorganized. We were not able to find where the host was or check in area was easily. No one was greeting or trying to be attentive to help us for our reservation. We walked around the restaurant for a while and tried to ask for help. One waiter finally looked at us to only tell us “go to the other side of the restaurant and find a host”.
We finally got a table (there were only a few guests, it was almost empty-ish) to find out that they had a very different menu offerings than what they had on their own website. I mean very! The did not have any of those, usual, classic french food we were going to order. And almost everything was more expensive. I ended up ordering their fish dish. It took a long time to get my dish… it seemed little long especially considering how the restaurant was still empty-ish at the time ( our reservation was very early).
I was starving by the time my dish came. I took a bite…I could not feel any warmth on the fish & the other ingredients.
I was so shocked that they served cold fish for this high price,
for what? this little tiny cold fish dish?? (and finally someone brought 1 little tiny bread)

I wanted to speak to the waiter to communicate, but he was not around and finally when he was around ,he did not come near our table at all , only checked the other customer and disregarded us. I thought he would come by to ask us the usual question ” how is your meal? how is everything ” But..no.
Finally I spoke to the manager about my dish. He listened and offered to re-do my dish, but at this point, it seemed like we’d better just leave.. from all my foodie experiences (either low or high end )….no point of Re-making the first dish here.

Finally we caught the attention of our waiter, he came and we communicated with him that we spoke to the manager since he never came to our table to check with us.
My husband happened to express little more details about how disappointing the food and the experience were. And as I was getting ready to leave, I was so shocked to hear the waiter’s response to my husband…. he said to my husband “Whatever!”
I could not believe what I just heard…

I was so excited to go out for a good French dinner but I ended up getting some overpriced cold fish meal with one tiny little piece of bread and not being able to eat it after all, and being treated unpleasantly.

We Paid high price for this kind of dining experience…. for Cold fish meal and lamb dish which was just ok and lukewarm…ish!
I still left 1star, for the manager who listened actively, and offered to Re-make my cold fish dinner.
NO star for overall hospitality, food taste( & temperature), menu offerings (this night), portion, and the way this problem was handled

I hope other people whoever come here get better food experience than ours. I just don’t know what we did wrong to be treated like this. Did we not look good enough for their restaurant? Is that because we did not order drinks and more dishes?
Ignored, served with subpar food at this upper east side french restaurant had a really high price tag….

Food: Okay 3.5/5
Service: Good 4/5
Vibe: 4/5

We arrived earlier than our reserved time and were seated promptly.
Table is small and not quite comfortable.
Service is good. But I feel like sometimes I had hard time to find the waiter that actually served our table.

I ordered restaurant week menu: Escargot, Hanger Steak, crème brûlée.
Escargot: it was okay, not enough flavors and we had much better escargots in other French restaurants.
Hanger Steak with fries: This was pretty good and we both love it!
Crème brûlée: Average, nothing impressive.

My friend ordered duck confit from the regular menu. It was very dry and hard. Felt like it was cooked and sat there for a long time. Not recommended at all.
