Went on Valentine’s Day for dinner. They offered a set menu. I had the steak and my husband had the fish. I had asked for the salad, pasta and desert to be boxed up to bring home for me. I only wanted my main course to be served. My husband had his whole meal there. For $120 a person (tax and tip included) you would expect a decent size serving. We were so disappointed. My steak was very good but when I looked at what else I got I was not impressed. We went for a romantic evening and had a comedy show. The server was great but the experience was not good. The pictures are what we brought home. No I did not eat any of the pasta before I took the picture. This was served to me on a desert plate. Total bill was $288 with 2 drinks.

We celebrated our daughter’s 24th birthday here last night, while it was many of the guests first time, others hadn’t been to the restaurant in years. The atmosphere was very intimate and warm, our area was well prepared, we had enough space for our party of 12. Upon sitting, our waiter “Court or Cort” took drink orders, was attentive to everyone and he answered our questions and concerns without hesitation. We were disappointed that the restaurant “ran out” of crab cakes; only one person from our party was able to order crab cakes before we were told they were out…very disappointing because mostly everyone was having that as an appetizer. Note: Reservations were at 6:30p on a Friday night. We all proceeded to order entrees, we waited 45mins for the food to start flowing out. As we waited, I asked our waiter if there were any breads that were available to us as we waited; there were no complimentary breads available. A few entrees that I remember were, steak tips (small portion), fish of the day which I had and it was absolutely delicious!!!, surf and turf, lasagne and salad with grilled shrimp which all received high praise. Our waiter lit the candles on the cake when it was time and also served everyone with a slice. I rated this review 4 stars across the board because of the crab cakes, the surprise up-charge when using a credit or debit card (which we did not notice on the menu or wasn’t told before ordering our meals), the 45min wait for food and a few guests rated their meal a 3/10. We will definitely visit again, overall we were pleased with the experience.

The atmosphere was cozy and classy. I appreciated the fireplaces and dim lighting, making it feel special. The service was friendly yet spotty. We waited a while to be attended to initially for drinks and appetizers took quite a while to arrive. The real disappointment was with the food. We got the special pork chop, the chicken Frances and the gnocchi. The pork chop flavor was good, but I was asked how I wanted it cooked and said “medium”. It was very well done, so tough that my butter knife plus a lot of muscle could barely get through it. I should have had a steak knife. The menu said it came with sweet potatoes and greens. But it was really just a smear of sweet potato with a sprinkle of greens. We were charged almost $50 for this special entree and the portion was minuscule. The gnocchi was tasty but the chicken dish was dry and again a very small portion. The food was average and way overvalued in price for what was given. Probably would not visit again. Would rather spend $170 on a meal that was delicious and left us full instead of needing another dinner upon leaving.

My husband and I came for valentines day with another couple. Service was amazing. Drinks were good. Food not so much. Pasta was cold, I ordered my steak well done and it came out medium. Asparagus had no flavor and was hard. Brownies were hard as a rock. Probably won’t be coming back. The amount of money we paid, you expect exquisite food, which was not the case.

Our recent New Years Eve visit fell short of the standards this restaurant once upheld. We had our wedding here 7 years ago and had an amazing time. Although we specifically requested a table downstairs, we were instead seated upstairs in what appeared to be an attic-like space off in the corner. The area was poorly arranged, and above our table a hanging light bulb shone directly into our eyes creating an uncomfortable environment. We left this table and went to express our concerns to the hostess. There were plenty of open tables downstairs but she said they were reserved for 7pm when our reservation was for 6pm. My wife said we will just sit at the bar if we have to. We were then placed at a table in a hidden spot beside the fireplace. I say hidden because the lady refilling water forgot about us several times.
In addition, portion sizes are small while prices are quite expensive resulting in a disappointing imbalance between cost and value. Dinner for two was $240 not including tip. $62 for a 6oz filet then up charge when asked for more bread!!!!
The one redeeming aspect of the experience was our server, Devin, who provided excellent service—professional, attentive, and genuinely courteous. His efforts stood out in an otherwise unsatisfactory visit. He was assigned upstairs but took care of us at this downstairs table.

Food was absolutely terrible. From ice cold pasta, to poorly executed filet mignon, to under cook asparagus, and dry cardboard like brownies, total disappointment for a $300 + meal.
Valentine’s Day had a set menu, it was very obvious the pasta was batched cooked, and sat for a while. The steak was rushed, and heavily cooked on one side and not the other. True disappoint.
No way in hell we were the only people disappointed that night.

I want to rave about this place, but the way the manager attempted to swindle $150 fee for a room I didn’t ask for and moreover neither was disclosed when I booked a reservation for 18 nor when I arrived with my party, stops me from being able to give this place admiration. They really put a damper on a really great brunch attempting to be duplicitous.
But before this debacle,
The service was phenomenal, and the food was perfect. The chef really put effort into developing layers of flavors and textures.
The cocktails were also topnotch. They even had mint to make a truly incomparable mojito.
Even though I won’t be back, this place cuisine is on par.
Be careful with parking lot. It’s mostly rocks and muddy.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy, perfect for date night, of a office party. The food was cooked very well and was very flavorful. My steak was cooked to perfection. Our server was extremely kind and took wonderful care with all of our orders. She was fantastic! I look forward to returning to try their regular menu as our office party has a fixed menu (which was perfect for our group).

Jacmel Inn on a Thursday night in January was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent. I had Jumbo Shrimp with grits (essentially Shrimp & Grits). The presentation was superb, the smell exquisite, and the tastes matched. The sauce brought it’ll together. I had to use some bread to mop it up at the end. The service was exemplary, with young but well trained servers. With at least two fireplaces, the restaurant is cozy, the various rooms sized just right to offer a personal and private experience. Put this place on your list of must visits.
