We really enjoyed having lunch at Jackson Ranch Steakhouse Restaurant. The decor is really neat with a full size stage coach and a chuck wagon inside. The place is very spacious with private dining rooms and a full cocktail bar. Our food was very good and the portions were huge. The service was also excellent, friendly and attentive.

Had the NY strip medium rare, but may be came out as rare. I don’t mind as long as it was not over cooked. Just about 1/2″ of marbling running the full length of the steak. Very tender. Baked potato with all the fixings was also great.

Sat in the bar at the counter as they wanted to give priority to groups for tables.

Fyi: Friday/Saturday is prime rib night…$38

Try the Tractor Brewing Blood Orange Ale on tap. Very enjoyable brew.

Hints:
1. Watch parking along the side street in their lot as there is no curb. Go too far and you will roll down to the street.
2. Don’t use the main right front hand door, it squeels like a opera pig.
3. Tip the bartender as they not only prepare drinks but waitress five table plus the bar top.

My coworker and I stopped by after a long day. I entered the restraunt with excitement. The atmosphere was nice as the old wagons took center stage. We were seated in 15 minutes. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. I ordered the 14 oz.ribeye that was advertised as 28 days aged, perfectly marbled, and tender and juicy. An hour later and a pile of apologies from the wait staff later, the food arrived and it was none of the things as advertised. I didnt think it was worth the wait or the price. I honestly would not recommend. Who knows maybe it was an off night.

I have been driving past this place for years and finally decided to stop in for dinner. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I had a sirloin steak, medium rare and cooked to perfection. My meal came with a beautiful salad and the most absolutely delicious biscuits i’ve ever had in my life. Our hostess and server were both very attentive and friendly. The chef even came out to say hello and asked if we enjoyed our meal. I can’t wait to go back.

There are few choices in Socorro, New Mexico that deviate from the primarily Mexican / New Mexican theme of the dining here. Though those are good, if you stay here in Socorro for a longer time period, you may want more variety.

Jackson Steakhouse is one of the few that offers American style dining options.

I have been here for three weeks and I have done both carryout and dine-in with Jackson’s at least eight times. Every single time the service has been positive and conscientious. Little mistakes (such as forgotten condiments) have been corrected immediately. Always with a friendly attitude.

The food has been well prepared and I’ve enjoyed my meal every time. I’ve ordered for my groups on multiple occasions which means I have 10 takeout orders to go. All of them have always been prepared with care, labeled correctly, and we’re ready on time.

The chef is very friendly and positive as well. We have talked to him at least a couple of occasions as he’s passed through and checked on our meals.

But I definitely will be returning here again.

Amazing place . Classic Wild West style and great food. I had the sirloin steak and it was perfect. But you definitely have to try the candid bacon for starter.

From reading the reviews, I was expecting a decent steak dinner. Not so much. It’s as if they were overwhelmed and unprepared for the rush of diners.

We waited in the adjoining bar while waiting to be seated. The bartender, when she finally came out from the back, never greeted us and we sure never had an opportunity to order any drinks. After almost 15 minutes of being ignored, and watching other folks get served, my friend insisted we wait in the restaurant lobby as we were definitely not going to be served. This should have been a clue and we should have left.

Service was slow but I will say our waitress was nice enough and appeared to be trying her best but the atmosphere and the food worked against her. Everyone in our group ordered steaks, 2 medium and 1 medium rare. The steaks all came out rare. Even after sending one of the steaks back for further time on the grill, it somehow still was rare.

I ate my rare steak, even though I ordered a medium, and found it very chewy (aged 40-days?) and had gristle. My dining partner never received his salad and odds were my other dining partner never had any alcohol in his hard Arnold Palmer (they called it a Tom Arnold).

Pretty disappointing experience.

Probably not a place to take your vegan or vegetarian friends, but you should know that from the name. Good steaks, good prime rib. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, no one complained. The Italian Lemon cake is excellent.

This was the other nice restaurant we had dinner at while staying in Socorro. We were hungry after a long day of bird photography down at the National Wildlife Refuge. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess who took us to a nice table.

Our server soon came to see us and take drink orders. They have a decent enough wine list so we ordered a bottle of the Kendall Jackson which the server brought out promptly and then took our food orders. We had salads that were fresh and tasty and had home made dressings. Steak is the important thing here, so one of us had the ribeye, we also ordered the barramundi and the chicken fried steak. The CFS had a really good creamy gravy over it and the mashed potatoes, fish came with a rice pilaf.

Everything we got was top notch, large enough servings but not overwhelming. The interior was bright and cheerful and all decorated for Christmas. They have a real stage coach as you enter the restaurant, really in beautiful condition.

The prices are fare considering the good food you get and the drinks from the bar as well as the great service from staff members.

We would dine here again based on this visit.

We arrived there was one other customer. The waitress delivered our drinks and NEVER CAME BACK. In the mean time another table was seated they received there drinks and salads, and still nobody showed up to take our food order so we left!
