I used to love this place. I went there every week just for their achiote chicken salad. They recently changed the recipe—swapped wild rice for white rice and reduced the amount of kale. Rice is more than half the dish now, with a thin layer of veggies. The rice is mushy and doesn’t hold the same texture of the previous recipe.
Other than that, the service is always good and people are friendly. I just wish they didn’t ruin my favorite dish. ):

One of my favorite places to dine locally. Super positive & clean atmosphere with friendly & helpful staff, & fresh & delicious ingredients. I usually order a salad with a side of piping hot fries! Indoor/outdoor seating available! Highly recommend!

Nice spot for families. The kids meals are good deals and the food comes out fresh with nice cuts on chicken and steak. Can add up with the side dishes but typical fare for walnut creek dishes. Food is fast and service is great.

The nicest staff members ever!!! Delicious fresh, food made to order. The gentleman taking our order was so sweet and patient as I was a first time customer. I noticed the fresh cut turkey carving station and knew I had to get that. Everything was delicious!!!!!

Interesting business model, relatively decent food, especially salads and great service at Jack’s Urban Eats.
Tried both of their expensive meat dishes dishes – Sonoma and Try Tip and cannot recommend either one of them. Meat is a bit chewy and not as flavorful as you’d want it to be. Mac & cheese ordered by my beautiful wife was OK although I’m not a big fan of it. Grilled veggies were excellent and flavorful. Would highly recommend to build your own salad. Choose any mix of greens and seven additional ingredients you would like to add to it along with the favorite dressing of your choice.
Excellent service and thank you to the host for that! Will be back just for that.

Honestly, the experience felt really off from the beginning. I ordered my usual tri-tip sandwich along with a custom salad to go. When I got home, I found sunflower seeds instead of corn, and there was even plastic in my salad. If I wasn’t allergic to sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and nuts, I would have just took it and ate it. I took a few bites, noticed and then had to use my EpiPen.
Not exactly the healthy mix I expected! I should have taken it as a sign when they were rude and unwelcoming when I walked in; it felt like I was a burden to them. Don’t go to this location if you’re looking for good food and good service.

I had an excellent customer service experience here. I had the turkey meal with apple bacon brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes with gravy and cranberry pomegranate. It was so yummy! I highly recommend this place.

This was our favorite place to eat-even a favorite place to go with a group on staff development days. We all loved the chicken achiote bowl and other bowls, but are very disappointed with the black rice/quinoa combination being switched out for boring and less nutritional white rice. I am not sure that we will be returning any time soon. Very disappointed.

Good tasty food, reasonable priced. Family friendly casual eatery. Enjoyed the pesto chicken sandwich, the Cajun chicken sandwich and some sweet potato fries. They just mango in many of their dishes. Salads, Sandwichs, some plates and many side dishes available. Even have a couple of local beers on tap.

A must stop! The food here is fresh and as someone trying to eat better the different salads here gives me a variety to pick from that I don’t make me feel I’m being deprived. My husband loves the Lemon Time Chicken plate. The people that work here are friendly and generous trying to make things perfect. I over heard them talking to a guy doing deliveries for them one day. He had two deliveries and he was concerned as one had sauce and didn’t want the food soggy and put it as a priority of two orders. Making the delivery person come back to do the second so both would be hot and fresh. Now that’s service!
