I finally tried Taco Tuesday for the first time and wow. The jerk chicken was my go-to (as always), but the pulled pork and brisket were just as good. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and exactly what you want from great BBQ.
You can literally smell Jack’s before you see it — that smoky aroma pulls you right in.
Consistently great food, friendly service, and true hometown vibes. Jack’s is a must-stop if you’re anywhere nearby.
The atmosphere gives the vibe of a 1950s bar. The kind of place you would go up when you would visit up north.
Service has always been top-notch. Waitresses are always extremely helpful.
I love their homemade tater tot as an appetizer. They usually have ones that are cheddar jalapeño that taste absolutely amazing.
Always get their brisket, which is smoked to perfection
Cannot wait to go back
So I went back again and Ribs / Brisket were available. Brisket was overcooked (grey), chewy and had no smoke ring/flavor at all. Pretty sure ribs were boiled because the meat was tightened up. Contrary to popular belief “fall off the bone” means overcooked and it should leave a “U” when you bite it. This did neither. Lots of “chew” to it. Out of cornbread and no offer to substitute. Total bummer. Again, ridiculous wait time, talking 40 mins from order to service.
Sides: Beans were very good (the bright spot!) Mac is ok, rice was rice, seasoned fries were decent, slaw was good (mayo based – deli style).
Wanted to like it, I really did. Wanted another BBQ place to go to, but the search continues…
Beware, menu prices aren’t the same as on the bill. 2 meat says $18, bill said $24.
Atmosphere- Fairly wide open layout with a bar and grill vibe: , clean and open.
Service- This is where we start to see cracks. Missed opportunities here. The place was only half filled but took some time to get a server, we began ordering and quite a few options were unavailable. * You cannot evidently order chili in the spring/summer, even though it’s on the menu. Quite a few items were out however this is expected at a BBQ joint:
Our server forgot our appetizers and the entrance was incorrect:
It is of Note that after these failings the server went out of his way to make things right and we appreciated the effort and ultimately felt they did a good job.
Food- Fantastic brisket, delicious chicken and wonderful beans. The only criticism was the pulled pork was dry, The burnt sends were sensational.
Will return but might be a while, Recommend trying.
Overall, the food just didn’t meet the standard you’d expect from a BBQ place. We were excited to try it, but unfortunately the experience was not worth the money, and we wouldn’t go back unless the quality improves.
We remember the food truck food was much better, the quality of the food has gone down hill.
