Social Profile:

The New Yorker Deli was started in Vinings, GA in 2002, with a vision of recreating a New York-style deli with a twist of Southern Charm. At our inception, the menu was simple yet effective, offering Reubens and cheesesteaks that were served with a pickle and chips. As our popularity increased our menu evolved to offer a wide variety of options including savory breakfast selections and gourmet salads. As we continue to grow, we will always stick to our original formula for success. We not only maintain our devotion to the highest quality meats and cheeses, but also continue to rely on customer service as our main ingredient to success. With locations in Smyrna and Buckhead we look forward to seeing you soon!

Traditional Big Apple-style deli serving familiar classics prepared with Southern flair.

Eh… first time and probably last time. I wanted pastrami, but the only hot sandwich I saw had half the pastrami and half turkey, so I figured I’ll give it a shot. Taste wise it was okay, nothing spectacular, but definitely not a $14 sandwich. There was maybe 4 oz of meat total, one leaf of lettuce, two tomato slices, and a only a couple of very thin onion shavings. Potato salad was decent though. Nothing to write home about, especially when there’s far better deli joints in atlanta with better prices. Service was pretty quick though, I’ll give them that.

The food is delicious. I got the chopped beef and my wife got the “Patrick” sandwich. The fries are fresh cut and the potato salad is top notch, like grandmas. Parking is challenging but worth it. If you’re in ATL, it’s a must.

I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese “combo” and it definitely brought me back home! I think they used cheddar instead of American (my fave), and the sandwich came on a brioche bun instead of a Kaiser, which I wasn’t a fan of. BUT the potato salad? Whew! Tasted just like something my granny would make—definitely tastes like home! I’d just suggest cooking the potatoes a little longer since a few were still crunchy.

As for service, the cashier wasn’t very familiar with the menu. Honestly, that could work in their favor if they trained staff to upsell and suggest more items—it would really elevate the experience.

Overall, the food was good and I’d come back to try more.

I tried a Reuben sandwich for the first time, and it completely exceeded my expectations—perfectly toasted bread, tender corned beef, and just the right amount of sauerkraut and dressing. My husband had the chopped cheese, it was okay. Our son ordered the chicken club sandwich, which was stacked high with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.

Not only was everything absolutely delicious, but the portions were generous, leaving us with plenty to take home. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch.

I was honestly pretty underwhelmed by my most recent visit to New York Deli.

I ordered the soup-and-half-sandwich combo: Brunswick Stew and the Ellis Island. The stew was pretty good—especially once I added a little hot sauce—but the sandwich was a real disappointment. The bread was wrinkly and soggy, and the whole thing felt like it had been made ahead of time and left sitting in the fridge.

At that point, I’d take a Publix sub over this any day. Not sure I’d go back.

I like Jacks NewYork Deli, I’ve visited here a few times in the past each time I try to get something new off the menu. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was not what I was expecting. It was missing like a something to hold together the chicken from crumbling apart as well as missing some seasonings . The soup & salad were delicious. I’ll be back to try something different And hopefully tasty again soon.

Update * visited again this past weekend for some breakfast sandwiches & they were only thing missing from my salmon lox were the capers however but everything else was good.

Every now and then, even after almost 13 years in Atlanta, I come across a spot that is a hidden gem and babeeeeeeeee… Not only is Jack’s New York Deli a hidden gem, however, it is the definition of GOOD FOOD!

I came across Jack’s New York Deli as my little sister wanted to try it as she was on her journey for a Good Pastrami sandwich. Though we don’t live anywhere near, we chose a day and went for lunch.

Jack’s New York Deli sits off a Main Street, however, it’s tucked off in the corner. Pay attention to your GPS because if you blink too hard, you may pass it. LoL.

Walking in, the establishment is super clean. The all glass front provides an ample source of natural light, and they even have patio seating if you choose to enjoy the weather in full. With a traditional sub shop setup, I took a moment to review the menu, then headed to the counter to place my order.

With an abundance of choices, it was soooooooooooooo hard not to order every sandwich that I loved. Yet, with keeping my summer body (ha) in mind, I decided on the Chicken Club and a Salad with extra Feta.

Baaaaaabyyyyyyyyyy. Wow. All I can say is, Jack’s New York Deli understood the assignment. Quality meat. Fresh fixings. Great portions. Crisp salad. And an amazing dressing.

I’m talking a true HIT. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING was a miss.

The chicken club presented a moist and perfectly golden boneless breast. Juicy tomato. Crisp lettuce. And, perfectly buttered white bread… This sandwich was bite after bite of robust flavor and texture perfection. Paired with the slice of pickle, the chicken club is a true 10/10.

The salad was simple yet still above standard. The ingredients were all fresh and nothing was soggy. The salad wasn’t just thrown on the plate, however, appeared to be blended as a salad should and paired with the right amount of dressing for the size of the salad. Another 10/10.

Last but not least, the service at Jack’s New York Deli was spot on. I was greeted upon entry and the staff was engaging and friendly as I placed my order. At this point we’re three for three: Food, Cleanliness, and Service. A total WIN!!!!!!

Though I live on the other side of town, don’t be surprised if you see me at Jack’s New York Deli. I’m on a mission to taste the entire menu.

Until next time, Jack’s New York Deli thank you for my food happiness experience.

Solid place for food today, but place is a little dingy and could be cleaned better. I would have rated it 4.5 if possible. We had two orders of Tuna salad sandwich (one with fries and one with potato salad) plus a cheesesteak 3 egg omelette with hash browns. Tuna salad was good (a little under seasoned, but was easily remedied with salt and pepper). Basic but well put together potato salad. The cheesesteak was decent but not close to Philly standards. The bathrooms could use a better cleaning and while the concrete floors matched the New York vibe they should have been cleaned better as well. The restaurant received an A rating. They had an outside eating area under a canopy, but we didn’t check it out.

I had the Patrick. Although tasty it was not hot. The coleslaw was dry and awful. I had to replace it with chips. Service was good so I may come back to try one of the breakfast sandwiches.

Update 09.01.24

I returned and this time the food was much better. I recommend eating here. It’s better than Jason’s Deli.

Jacks New Yorker Deli is a slice of New York in Atlanta. The local feel of a corner deli in Queens it’s a perfect reminder of my old neighborhood.

The food is amazing and the workers are super friendly and they all love dogs! There is a large patio that you can dine with your dog and your family. The deli has the most amazing Cuban panini and if you drop some, a friendly dog will come and pick it up

I really love taking my family all members, including the four legged one to Jack’s!
