Absolutely wonderful from service to food. Grabbed takeout and Danielle took my order she was extremely nice.when picking up the food the owner carrie and her husband introduced themselves. Being new to the area the restaurant feel very welcoming. As for the food EVERYTHING was fresh and made from scratch the chicken parm was fresh breaded chicken and the sauce you could tell was homemade. My husband got the burger melt and said how delicious it was sadly he didn’t let me try it. The homemade chips were an added bonus , came with the sandwich but didn’t feel like an afterthought crispy and perfectly seasoned. When chatting with the owner they informed me everything from the meatballs to the mozzarella sticks are made from scratch. Highly recommend this place as you could really tell they care about the quality of their menu!

Last year, I walked into Jack’s Irish and Italian Pizza Pub in Smithfield as part of the RI FOOD FIGHTS Lord of the Pies event, and walked out with a story about a pizza that couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. The bottom crust burned hard while the top stayed pale and raw. Cheese pooled like weather patterns. Oil slicked everything. The pepperoni cups gave up on life halfway through cooking.
I wrote what I saw. I posted it. I moved on.
Then Jack’s did something that matters more than producing a perfect pizza on the first try. They didn’t get defensive. They didn’t make excuses. (See picture) They just invited me back to see what they’re really about.
“It was just a tough pie day,” I told them. Because that’s the truth. Every kitchen has them. Consistency is the hobgoblin of many restaurants, particularly the ones that are trying to get their footing set.
Today we walked back in, genuinely hoping for a redemption story. Sometimes hope gets you disappointed. Sometimes it gets you vindicated.
The pizza that arrived today looked nothing like last year’s disaster. Thicker crust, doughy in that substantial way that makes for a chewy, satisfying experience. It had weight. Structure. The kind of foundation that holds up under scrutiny.
The first bite told the whole story. Crunchy on the outside, chewy through the middle, with this unexpected toasted sesame oil flavor happening in the crust that sets it apart from every other bar pizza in Rhode Island. The sauce showed up this time, savory and well-balanced, working with high-quality cheese instead of drowning under it.
This wasn’t some fluke of good luck. This was a really competent pizza made by people who’ve figured out their recipe and their oven.
The service matched the food. Friendly without being intrusive, attentive without hovering, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to stay for another beer.
The room still has that Bryant Bulldog bar aesthetic working. Reclaimed wood, industrial lights, butcher block tables, sports memorabilia on the walls. It knows what it is. A neighborhood spot where you watch the game, catch up with friends, and eat pizza that holds its own.
If I lived nearby, I’d be here regularly. That’s not something I say often after writing a critical first review. But Jack’s earned it the hard way, by taking feedback seriously and proving they can deliver when it counts.
Last year’s pizza was a problem. This year’s pizza is the solution. Sometimes the story worth telling isn’t about perfection on the first attempt. It’s about showing up better the second time.

A small “pizza pub” it actually has a fairly large pizza and lunch menu. Of course there is a bar but I did not examine the liquor selection.

I had a small cheese pizza. It was good suza and lots of cheese! The sauce was good and the crust was thin but not paper thin. A very good pizza!

This is truly a hidden gem. My first time and definitely NOT my last. The food was delicious, service was excellent, extremely clean and very quaint. Prices were extremely reasonable. Can’t wait to go back. Highly suggest going there.

Waitress was super nice and attentive. (Kia or Kira I forget) and the pizzas were gorgeous and my wife really loved them. I had already eaten but still enjoyed the little bit I had. You can tell this place does things right.

This is our second experience here, the first one was a fairly decent experience which is why when we saw it on the pizza food fights list we couldn’t wait to go back

This time was very disappointing to say the least, our waitress was very inattentive and disengaging . We sat down at 730 placed our order with in 15 mins tops then waited for another half hour if not more for our food to come which all came together even though we ordered an app and asked for that first.
In that half hour of waiting we were not asked if needed refills or anything for that matter
Customers walked in after us order later then we did and received their food within minutes of us getting ours.
It was absolutely FREEZING it was warmer outside at 41 degrees than it was in the restaurant.
Understandably it is a local spot and that is who frequents but when you can barely hear the waitress or the person sitting next to you it’s a little bit absurd!
And feel like an outcast as a paying customer
Then we ask for a box for our leftover pizza which there was half left we are given a 8inch box and have to finagle it in there well everyone else has a 12. Inch box
Yes we could have ask for another box but we could not get out of there fast enough!

Absolutely worst place I’ve ever ordered from. Ordered food to bring to my daughter’s house for lunch.

This is the order I called in: 1 small spinach, feta and black olive pizza, 1 small sausage and green pepper pizza, 1 large prosciutto and fig pizza, 1 spaghetti and meatballs.

I received a call back stating that they didn’t have feta on the menu, which the online menu actually does. Anyway, I switched that small pizza to pepperoni, mushroom and onion, no other changes.

Pick up my order and bring it to my daughters and this is what we got: 1 small pepper (NOT PEPPERONI), mushroom and onion, 1 small sausage NO PEPPERS, 1 SMALL prosciutto and fig pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs had a piece of steel wool in it.

When I called to complain I was told a customer had reached over the bar and taken the order because they were busy. WHAT??!!!!

Anyway, they offered to bring us a new lunch, but it was already late in the afternoon so we said no thank you. They said they would send a gift certificate so we could give them another chance because “that’s not how they roll” …. never received one. Not sure I’d be dumb enough to try them again anyway. 1 mistake ok…. but the entire lunch was wrong.

I can’t blame them. I’ll blame myself. When the box of grease with a little pizza on top was dropped off at my doorstep, I knew what I was in for. 1 slice was all it took to wallow in the regret/disappointment and clogged artery waiting to happen. The remaining slices went into the trash and so did the box unfortunately because it could not be recycled do to the amount of grease that it trapped inside of it. Bad for your body, bad for the environment. Order the salad.. Just not from here.

Friendly owners and excellent food. Wehad a variety of wings which were delicious.
Also had a potato pizza which sounds no particular appetizing, but it was really tasty
We would definitely come back here again.
