I love asking patrons walking out what their faves are especially if they look like a regular
I was instructed to get a virgin and I also got a jalapeño cheddar sausage and smoked chicken thighs.
Undoubtably art is and and sausage were knockouts.
Chicken thighs were tasty, but they were lacking texture
Loved the building layout with both inside and outside seating. The place was packed yet the line moved pretty fast and so did the seating. Service was great, prompt and with a smile.
Now for the food. I ordered the MOJO Smoked Wings, there was no smoking going on here, these are baked the charred a touch and tossed in a great tasting sauce. All in the wings were good but remove the word “Smoked” as there was none.
For lunch I had the Flippin Good, 1/2 rack pork ribs and Brisket along with two sides, cowboy beans and jalapeno cream corn. Both the ribs and brisket were over cooked and dried out. The ribs were so hard I couldn’t cut them so I tore one off and tried to eat it but couldn’t, it was horrible. Onto the brisket, it had none of the spongy pull you look for in a perfectly cooked brisket. It was very dry and also hard to chew.
The cowboy beans were awesome, love them, lots of bold flavors. However, the jalapeno cream corn lacked flavors, I was looking for the jalapeno bite but never found it.
I ordered To-Go Burnt ends and the brisket tacos. When I got home I was missing the burnt ends, they forget them. Shame. But, the brisket tacos with the Consomme dipping sauce was spot on.
TIP: Parking is sparse.
Would I come here again? No. I don’t want to take the chance of being so disappointed again. Besides, there are so many great BBQ places around I’d rather go to a sure thing.
Brisket honestly had no flavor and was disappointing. Sauce didn’t help. Mac & cheese was bland & fries were decent!
Smoked wings were pretty good. Again, could use more flavor. Sweet potatoes were cool. I just prefer mine a bit sweeter.
Shirley temple did not taste like a Shirley temple
All in all, not TERRIBLE but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
They have inside seating, as well as a lovely area out front to sit as well. We opted for that. Someone had their doggie out there. Dog friendly is ALWAYS a plus!!
The gal taking our order was super patient, as I pondered the menu. Settled on the pulled pork sandwich and side of broccoli salad. Hubs got a pound of pulled pork, ribs, and fries. So my sandwich was good. The meat was cooked to perfection. Not exactly full of flavor, which is usually ok, because I love me some sauces. But therein lies the problem: the sauces are not good. Like not any of the three on the table. Maybe I should have grabbed the Alabama sauce I saw inside. I don’t know. I mean even the store brand Publix original barbecue sauce has more character than these sauces. Yes I know it’s silly to judge a restaurant on their sauces but here we are.
Broccoli salad: I just shouldn’t have ordered that at a bbq place. Completely dry and tasteless. Like I was gnawing on an actual head of broccoli, undressed. But it had bits of apple in it. Don’t do that. I almost went for the greens, or tater salad, or Mac and cheese. I’ll go that route next time.
Ribs had the best flavor of the day! Smoky and deliciously drool-worthy. Kinda tough though.
Anyway, as stated above, I’ll be back. I feel like those birria tacos are calling my name…with a side of collard greens
Listen, when food is so good it haunts your dreams, you know you’re onto something special. Jack’s Feed Store and BBQ isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. A little pricey for lunch? Maybe. But do I regret a single penny? Not a chance.
Let’s talk about the **fried potatoes with queso**—crispy, cheesy perfection. And because I’m a visionary, I drizzled their signature BBQ sauce on top. Life-changing. The **fried chicken thigh sandwich**? Juicy, flavorful, and exactly why thighs > breasts (in sandwiches, obviously).
We couldn’t stop thinking about it, so we went back the next day. Same fries (because why mess with greatness), plus **birria tacos** that were **stuffed**—like, “you need both hands for this” stuffed. My coworker’s tacos the night before? Not as full but today she noticed how much meat was inside. So maybe it’s a luck-of-the-draw situation, but today, I won.
And then there’s the **custom soda dispenser**, disguised as a draft beer station. I sampled *every* flavor (because science), and the **cream pineapple soda**? Unexpectedly delightful.
Oh, and the **customer service?** Spot-on. The staff actually seem to *enjoy* their jobs—smiling, cracking jokes, making sure you’re taken care of. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome, not just like another order on the line.
Moral of the story: If you’re debating going to Jack’s, stop. Just go. And maybe clear your schedule for round two.
Jack’s Feed Store & BBQ is an absolute gem! The brisket was to die for—perfect marbling, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and packed with incredible smoky flavor.
The service was just as amazing as the food. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and to top it off, they even comped my beer when they found out I was visiting from Toronto. That kind of hospitality is rare and truly appreciated!
If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop by. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!
