Should’ve checked reviews before ordering. Spend your money elsewhere.
Was anticipating excellent food given they advertise, “best fish in town,” but both the fish and chips were stale, tasted like they’d been made over 30 mins before.
Also ordered a poutine but they gave me fries instead.
If you can’t get the order right and the fish is stale, what’s the point?

Their poutine used to be delish. Now there’s hardly any cheese on it and the fries were soggy. Also don’t get the chicken fingers. You pay $11.99 for 3 of the smallest chicken fingers you’ll ever see. And that price does NOT include fries. I was shocked.
Plus at least 3 people who ordered after us (and a significant amount of time after us for 1 of them) got their food before us. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes if you go during dinner.

Lots of parking, tables to eat outdoors, but the gravel lot is dusty, and you wouldn’t want dust getting in your food. Service was okay, but everyone else was served even though I placed my order first, and mine was last. Fish (haddock, cod) was good, coleslaw good, but fries stale, like when you put chips in the fridge overnight and eat them the next day. Disappointing, especially for the price. It would’ve been better if they had made the fries fresh while I waited. Advertised as “best in town,” but not for me.

Amazing. Period. The fish burger, cooked perfectly. Not greasy at all. Coleslaw is AMAZING. Everything is delightful and delicious. I wish I had bought many fish (cod) burgers home. Oh, and the buns, they are so good. It’s like a sweet bun but not too sweet.

Not a good experience tonight. We ordered, wings, fish and shrimp and everything was burnt on the outside and questionable inside. They remade the orders and they came out more burnt. Asked for something else was told the oil is the same so it would be burnt as well. They refunded the shrimp dinner but not without attitude. The pickerel was good despite the over crispy coating. I stopped today by this fish and chips spot, and I have to say—it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked. The fish was flaky and tender, the chips were golden and seasoned just right, and everything came out hot and fast.
But what really made my visit special was the girl at the cashier. She greeted everyone with a warm smile and made the whole ordering process smooth and welcoming. You could tell she genuinely cared about the customers and took pride in what she was doing. Her friendly attitude and great service added a personal touch that you don’t always find in busy places like this.
Highly recommend this place—not just for the food, but for the people who make it feel like more than just a quick stop. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Would have been 5 stars, but every single piece of fish needed to be filleted better. Whoever they source the pickerel from doesn’t know how to properly fillet a fish to remove all the bones

Ordered two cod meals with fries. I ve never fish like this. The batter was soggy the fish was so dry. Also ordered a burger that wasn’t even that good. We paid almost 80 bucks for this.
Definitely not the best fish n chips in town. Even the tarter sauce came in little packets don’t waste your money here

Never have I ventured into the same fish & chips place two days in a row. Fish’n chips here are not only the best in Sault Ste Marie, but probably the best I have had in Europe and North America.

Great little find on the north end of town. Fish burger was awesome and there was plenty of gravy and mozzarella on the poutine. Will definitely stop again on our next trip through!
