Jack Timmons grew up in Texas and has lived in Seattle for the last 2 decades. In 2012, he attended BBQ Summer Camp at the Meat Sciences department of Texas A&M, then toured many historic barbecue temples of Central Texas. Returning to Seattle, he bought an offset smoker, imported some post oak, mesquite and hickory, and started the Seattle Brisket Experience.
After more than a year of practicing the art of barbecue, and serving old-school, succulent smoked meats to thousands of Northwest BBQ fans at BBQ raves, Jack opened a restaurant in the SoDo region of Seattle – Jack’s BBQ.
An eclectic setting complete with mismatched chairs & a lunchtime buffet serves up traditional BBQ.

Now I am aware there more than one locations of Jacks BBQ, however this one is the only one that counts and the only one that reminds me of home. The only thing missing from this place is a floor to square dance at and a mechanical bull, otherwise this is my home of the great state of Texas. The look and the oviaince ain’t the only that reminds me of the State the food is exactly on par. They even make their own smoke sweet tea. The smoke brisket is tender and the ribs are always in no need of sauce. Although if you are a sauce person Jacks makes a good sauce which they also sell. Since I’m a southerners myself it reassuring that this is the only place that I know of where you can attain peach cobbler! So if you want true Texas BBQ go to SODO to Jack’s BBQ 5 stars.

We ordered Jack’s smoked turkey hot and ready for pickup on Thanksgiving morning. The turkey was amazing! Moist, flavorful, and surprisingly big. It fed about 16 people with leftovers to spare. When we carved into it, about two hours after pickup, it was still warm.
We also tried the pecan pie, though it was a bit too sweet for our taste.
Highly recommend Jack’s if you want a memorable Thanksgiving turkey!

This place is a must try bbq place in seattle or surrounding areas. Asa was a great server and everything came fast but left us alone to eat as well. Food was exceptional, chili is the best ive had and the banana pudding is to die for! Everything else was of coarse delicious. Hefeweizen beer was a perfect touch to the dinner as well.

Hi, first time going to Jacks BBQ and it was ok :/ flavors were fine but nothing was very hot. My husbands corn was luke warm and so were my mashed potatoes. The brisket had a lot of fat on it and was dry, tasted like it was cooked a couple of days ago. Same with my ribs, tasted like they were made yesterday and heated back up. The chili had no beans, and again was not hot. But the flavors were good, the corn bread was wonderful. Services was good as well!

The food here is ok. Just a little bit better than Famous Dave’s with bigger portions. The Brisket, Jalapeño Cheese link, Hotlink, Mac & Cheese, and Mashed potatoes is 8 out of 10. Ribs 7 out of 10. Coleslaw and Pull Pork 5 out of 10. And the Collar Greens were inedible. Also $15 per 1oz Tito shot is ridiculous.

We visited Jack’s BBQ Steakhouse in Seattle and were very impressed. The meat quality was excellent, and the steaks were cooked perfectly—juicy, flavorful, and tender. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive. A great place to enjoy a delicious meal and a good time. Highly recommend!

It started with the service. Our waiter was energetic, funny, and attentive. He brought us out menus and told us a bit about the history of Jack’s and their mammoth smoking pit. He got us our drinks and talked us through the menu. I ordered the pork ribs with collard greens and queso mac & cheese for sides. Everything was first rate. My wife ordered the Cobb salad, and rated it one of the best she ever had.
I think we have found a new favorite place! Thanks Jack’s!
Update: We have gone to Jack’s for our last two birthday celebrations. My wife chose to go there for the Cobb salad, I chose to go there for more carnivorous pursuits.

An unfortunate scoop of slimy pork on a bun paired with a terrible soup of noodles in a thin cheese sauce, sold as mac-n-cheese. Frustrating because my friend who ordered the same thing was served a handsome sandwich, overflowing with delicious pieces of meat.
The wild part is that the best looking food served at our table was a kid’s plate made up of chicken tenders, fries and cornbread. I will go back soon and order that. Seriously, it looked fantastic!

We recently visited here as a family of 4 from England. From the outside it looks like just a small shack, surrounded by people parking cars and walking in and out with food boxes. When we got inside, however, its quite big and designed exactly how you would imagine a smokehouse. We were seated quite quickly. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and Cheese, a cheese burger and the Texas Trinity (ribs, brisket, sausage, mash and fries) to share. It was arguably the best food we’ve eaten in a bbq smokehouse. The food was tender and not too smoked. I highly recommend trying here if you are in the area.

Another fantastic experience at Jack’s flagship restaurant in Sodo. Mariah absolutely made our evening with her hospitality, friendliness, and great recommendations, and Wendy and Cristina were wonderfully hospitable and helpful as well.
Big fan of this wonderful restaurant for many years now, and I always make sure to bring new folks so they can enjoy experiencing Jack’s, too. Cheers!
