Shrinkflation is a real thing. But this is ridiculous.
We get custard cakes a few times a year and ran in to get one since we were in the area. We got the pictured cake (remolded custard with some crushed Oreos on top) for 42 dollars.
We will not be back, not even for an ice cream. So sad as it was one of our Brighton favorites during summer.

One our new favorite spots. Jacks is in the downtown Brighton area. Surrounded by other small businesses like a candy store, book store and several restaurants. Close to public parking if you don’t want to parallel park on the main drag. When we arrived they had a bubble machine going, and it’s close to a little ally of artwork as well as the imagination station(park) and mill pond. The staff was young, friendly and patient with my small children who didn’t know exactly what they wanted when we walked in. Small and familiar. Really has a family feel. From now on I’m positive my kids will ask for ice cream any time we go to the park, or even drive downtown. The ice cream was delicious, and happy kids makes for happy mom.

Was greeted to this sweet lady, asking about the opinion of this cake she made (which was extremely well done). Extremely nice staff, and even better custard. Definitely a place to check out!

I was with some friends and we stopped in for some desert. It is a wonderful shop. The custard was amazing. Many options to choose from. I got a Resse’s blizzard/blizzard equivalent. Nice place downtown to be able to grab something as you walk around. Prices are good and the workers were extremely courteous. If I was back in the area, I would absolutely comeback again.

Great customer service, delicious custard, and cute little outdoor seating area. The black cherry custard was our favorite so we had it in a banana split with chocolate and vanilla.

Visited a few days ago, thinking it was Jack’s Custard but it’s changed now. The kids scoop was hardly a scoop of ice cream & they charged 99 cents to add a small spoonful of sprinkles to each kid scoop! I got the flavor of the day & it was good (Michigan Mint). My husband got a cookie dough avalanche and there was cookie dough in the top 1/4 of it but the rest was plain vanilla custard. Nothing special. Conveniently located by the Millpond/imagination station park but was not impressed with our purchase. Not likely that we will be back.

Went here with a friend and got the Cookie Monster Milkshake which has blue vanilla, cookie dough and oreos in it. It tasted very good!

Cute little frozen custard right by the mill pond in downtown brighton. There is a public parking lot near the store. The ladies inside were nice and helped us choose what to get. Ice cream was yummy and I would go here again.

I’m very happy to have a simple, mom and pop ice cream shop in Brighton. The owners are one of a kind and always there when I go, and they go above and beyond for us. Forget the fancy corporate stuff, simple and friendly is what this town needs
