The food was amazing. I had the Shepherds Pie and the French onion soup and it was so good I got another to take with me. The bar service was great, and they had good music although I wish the entertainment would leave their political views to themselves. We come to have dinner and enjoy music to escape the political climate that surrounds us. Everything on the menu sounded great and I’ll definitely stop back in. A great spot to frequent for sure! It was right at around $70 for shepherds pie, soup and 2 drinks.

What a lovely afternoon. We’re from England and had read about this place online. We’d also read about Nobody’s Darling, we also wanted to see these so it seemed like the perfect combination. A lovely little bar with plenty of seating. Food was lovely, a loaded fries, big enough to share. The music was delightful, the band were lovely. A perfect afternoon. And to stop graffiti in the toilets they have chalkboards, perfect.

I popped in here after going on a trolley tour of town for a quick bite to eat. They had a band playing, so I had to pay a cover that I wasn’t anticipating but that was fine because I fully support the arts. I grabbed a table and had a couple cocktails and the shepherds pie. The service was incredible – especially considering how busy the place was. It was a bit loud with the band playing but that’s the beauty of live music

We happened upon Jack of the Wood while visiting downtown Asheville. Not having any set dinner plans, we walked by and took a peek at the menu and thought it looked good so we stepped inside; I was instantly impressed by the atmosphere. It was a Saturday evening and there was an all women folk band of playing, and it was a great vibe. It wasn’t too crowded- we went around 5:30 and the only wait was from the kitchen, but it wasn’t too too long. Our server was nice and the food was delicious.

We were staying in downtown Asheville on a Thursday night and looking for some live music. Our Flat Iron Hotel valet, Sam, recommended Jack of the Wood pub and so glad he did! It was Bluegrass Night and the music didn’t disappoint. Loved that local musicians were also invited on stage to play. Jack of the Wood is such a cool, homey, local pub! Our bartender, Austin, made our night extra fun. His service was super friendly and we appreciated him taking the time to share the history of Jack of the Wood with us. This will definitely be our first stop next time we are back in downtown Asheville!

We found ourselves looking for some food before attending a concert in town and stumbled upon this neat British-style pub. We sat right down at the bar and were greeted immediately. I ordered a delicious IPA and the hubs ordered a Porter that he enjoyed every much. The ambiance in the place is awesome and the decor keeps you interested. He ordered the Fish-n-Chips, I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie, and neither were great. The Shepherds pie tasted good, but left my tummy feeling a bit bumpy. The fish was very greasy and the oil that was used to fry it tasted a tad old, but the slaw that came with the fish was super yummy. We’ll definitely go back, but we’d try something different on the menu the next time. The staff is amazing and the service was awesome!

We found this pub by chance and had a great time! The live music was fantastic, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the food was quite good for a pub. We shared a few different appetizers, and everything was tasty. A great spot for a fun night out!

Really fun Irish pub in downtown Asheville. The Sunday night Irish jam was really great. We had a tasty artichoke dip appetizer, some beers, and spiked hot cider. Service was great sitting at the bar and overall just a cozy atmosphere!
