Going to the Jack In A Box at Kahului on Maui has been a nightmare. We ordered a munchie meal, with a Large Oreo shake, an extra Ultimate Cheeseburger and a Double Jack meal. We didn’t recieve either of our drinks, and my special order, which had a special order sticker on it, wasn’t even correct (no onions). I don’t usually write reviews, but this is getting sickening already. It’s not the first time, and I doubt the last. I try getting ahold of them, and no response. I don’t know if the phone is broken or something, but that would be a long time for a food service to go without any way of communication from customers who can’t immediately go back to the store.

The inside is clean. The drive thru is open 24 hours.

Ultimate Cheeseburger
I always feel so guilty when eating this. It’s pretty much the size of a DQP from McD’s but tastes worlds better. And with curly fries? OMG.
Sourdough Jack
This is the only other burger I order besides the UC. Its a bit smaller and has a unique taste with the sourdough bread.
Portobello Mushroom Buttery Jack
I HAD to try this after seeing the commercial years ago, and it was damn delish! Butter makes everything better. I was surprised that the mushrooms were fresh and tasty, as was the Swiss cheese. I always opt for curly fries but I think the regular fries would go better with this burger.
Jumbo Jack with Cheese
This is my alternative to the Ultimate Cheeseburger when I need a small snack. It’s a single patty topped with ketchup and mustard, onions, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and is just the right size.
Portuguese Sausage, Eggs & Rice
Ask anyone in Hawaii, and they’ll say that McD’s is the place to get this local breakfast platter, as they’ve been doing it for decades now. So how does JITB’s version compare? IMO, it does not. My biggest gripe and pet peeve is that the sausages were sweet. Yuck! I loathe sweet foods unless it’s a dessert. The scrambled eggs were definitely real and not of the Egg Beaters variety but, pass.
Hash Brown
While it tasted similar to the McD’s one, it was slightly larger, and just as crispy.
Ham & Egg Breakfast Pocket
After seeing the commercials I had to try it! Unfortunately, the flour tortilla-wrapped finger food was so bland regardless of the salty ham and fake cheese. No sauce/condiments came with it. Pass.
SERVICE:
The drive thru can be super slow more so at late night. Staff are friendly.

I’m always excited when I find a Jack in the Box, since I don’t have any where I live. It’s my favorite fast food place (lots of nostalgia). I made a quick run there after leaving the airport and grabbed tacos, onion rings and an oreo shake (so, so good). I usually get a Sourdough Jack, but it was a late lunch.

With a clear conscience, I can say this is not fast food. I’ve lived on Maui for 13 years, and this Jack in the Box has been consistently slow that entire time.
Wait times are regularly 15–30 minutes (no exaggeration), customer service is often poor, and orders are sometimes wrong.
The food is usually good, and their shakes are great.
If you’re willing to wait a long time and aren’t in a rush, it’s worth going – when you have an accurate expectation, waiting is fine.

The food is pretty good for fast food, it’s Jack-in-the-box after all. The service is pretty bad. The cashier who took our order was sarcastic, impatient, and overall quite rude. Consequently, this restaurant, even though it’s fast food, can improve on its customer service. The place is only open for take-out (dine-in not available) which would have been great to know beforehand. The place took awhile to get our food and had several items such as Tiny Tacos and Sweet Tea unavailable. Overall, it’s nothing special, move along. If you choose to get take-out just know it’s nothing bad or good, just okay.

We arrived just shortly after 8pm. The parking lot was empty and the restraint was empty. The employee was friendly and took our order. Upon receiving our order and drinks we thanked him and left. When we got home, we found there was no taco sauce with our order and that the sandwiches appeared to have sat idol and reheated when we ordered. Reason we say this is due to the bread sticking to the wrappers. Also, a dessert order was missing.

Waited for 45 min in the drive through for a jr cheeseburger, a coke, and mini churros. They were out of tacos which was super disappointing. We called the other location and they are also out of tacos. Staff was not apologetic at all about the super long wait time. Worst service I’ve ever had at a jack in the box out of 4 different states
