I popped in for a quick brunch with the fam. We never knew pimento cheese could not just be good, but really really really good. The blondie pie was ridiculous. We devoured it instantly and had to order a second one.

Decided to visit this Jack Allen’s Kitchen (JAK) today for lunch and, as always, the experience did not disappoint. Besides the Barbacoa Quesadilla for appetizer, I ordered the usual Ruby Red Trout Salad for comparison purposes with other Jack Allen’s locations. I must admit, while the presentation, the amount and the quality of the dish is very consistent across all the JAK restaurants, I just feel in this particular location, the dish had a bit better flavor.

We went to dinner to celebrate my friends birthday. It was a Saturday night and we are from out of town so we were told might be best to make a reservation. We were seated right away and they were REALLY busy as well as I am sure short staffed as most places at the moment so it took us a bit to be greeted by our server but that gave us plenty of time to look so we ordered our drinks and our food at the same time.

This location is very loud, and does not have a lot of parking. Oddly they have a valet service yet it is not an upscale place. Food was well seasoned although 3 dishes came up really spicy and it wasn’t described as being spicy on the menu at all. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and it was not good, they replaced them and it was slightly different. Basically tasted like box wine that was open too long so we didn’t drink them but they charged for them anyway. Not sure I would come back to this location for those reasons.

Went there to grab a quick bite for lunch, they offer creative American classic plates like Pesto-marinated Crab stuffed chicken, Baja style fish tacos, Burgers, salads, etc. I asked Madison, my server, for a suggestion and she pointed me towards the Chorizo Stuffed Pork Tenderloin Medallions and what a great suggestion… the amount of food was perfect, flavor was amazing, and service was great! Food came out pretty quick as well, highly recommend it if you want to eat good comfort food.

Jack Allen’s is an iconic Austin destination. My family has been eating here for years. It’s a great place for family get togethers or just hanging out on the patio for brunch. They make great cocktails and the margaritas are a big draw for my family. I like the Mexican Martini.

Given our temporary residence location, this is an excellent spot! More than just food, but it’s a comfort spot. Has a bar so drink options are plentiful. Plenty of parking front and back, no issues there.

Excellent service and delicious, prepared from scratch food. I had the barbacoa stackers (app) as my meal and I didn’t finish them. Savory and delicious, served nice and warm with the nice contrast of the cool and crisp slaw. Pineapple mimosa to wash it all down. I’ve never had a bad meal or drink here.
