The Jaarsma Bakery is a great place to get some delicious goodies. They have all sorts of items you can get. From breads and fresh made egg noodles, to coffee cakes and their famous Dutch letters. Today was the first time I ever went and there wasn’t a line. Whether there is a long line or no line, the employees are always great and friendly.

Very cute. Filled with all things Dutch.
The line was very long, but kept moving. There are various trinkets and goods to look at along the way.
It’s well staffed, but the selection is so large and varied that it can take a bit to look things over and make a decision once you finally get to the front.
Prices are very reasonable. Everything was good but very sweet.
No seating available.
Street parking available nearby. Located on the heart of town so very walkable.

This place is divided in two; one side is a bakery and the other side a gift shop. Great baking goods. Good place to find a souvenir. I gave 2 stars to service because I was standing for 10 minutes on the souvenirs and gift side of the store waiting for someone to assist me, and when nobody came then I went to the bakery side to ask my question and they sent me back to the other side of the store which in order to do that I had to step outside and enter again through the gift shop side which was kind of inconvenient specially in 100 degree weather.

This charming old-school Dutch bakery connected to a souvenir shop was a really pleasant stop The place has a cozy, traditional vibe that makes you feel like you’re tasting authentic local treats. We decided to try several things — the S-letter cookies, fresh stroopwaffles, goat legs, and cinnamon rolls. Everything tasted quite good and felt freshly made.
The staff were also very friendly and efficient, serving customers quickly while still being polite and welcoming Overall, it was a nice little spot to grab some classic Dutch sweets and enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you like traditional bakery treats ✨

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Pella! The creme horns are my go-to when I am buying treats! They have quite a selection of baked goods to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. I especially love when they have the fifty cents freezer sale on their Bismarcks.
They also have a cute little gift shop area in the front when you walk in. Sometimes you have to wait in line, so it’s nice to browse while you stand in line.

Very very good pastries. We really enjoyed them.
Very busy, long line. We waited 30 minutes in line.
It was worth the wait. I am so glad we visited.
The staff was okay, could tell some were stressed out.
Everything we ordered was written down, it took about 20 minutes for the box to be filled up and to be added on the register. Maybe a new employee, they kept asking others for help.

I am so glad we waited in line at Jaarsma Bakery. The line zigzagged round the shop all the way from the entrance, but it was worth it. I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to see what they had and be pressured to order quickly, but that wasn’t the case at all. When it was my turn, the guy behind the counter helped me identify the baked goods filled with marzipan. I knew I wanted two Dutch Letters, but landed up also getting the Andres Almond Filled Butter Cookie and an Almond Tart. Everything from here was delicious and I wish we stayed closer… although that would be dangerous. The Dutch Letters were the best I’ve had so far, and at home with a cup of tea, the Almond Tart was my favourite.
