I was visiting the area and came across J5 as a nearby restaurant, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, the attention to detail was impressive, and the service was excellent.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, and our server was quick, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. You can truly tell they take pride in both their food and their customer experience.
I highly recommend J5 to anyone in the area,you won’t be disappointed. A must-try spot, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

We heard about their “Smashburger” for lunch and decided to check it out. Let me just say the burgers were so good, we’ve already been back a second time within a week. It’s only Tuesday – Saturday from 11am to 2pm. You order from a cute little trailer at the north end of the J-5 restaurant. They have a few tables on the patio if you want to eat there, or they offer it to-go. Basically you have the option of one cheeseburger (its a double patty, double cheese), with grilled onions, pickles, sauce, for $6.50 and you can add fries for another $3.50. Beats fast food in every category. Better quality ingredients, fast service, taste amazing, and less expensive than most drive-thru’s. Did I mention how friendly they are as well! This is a must try if you enjoy burgers, you won’t be disappointed! I plan on going back to try the J-5 restaurant before my vacation is over. The actual restaurant is only open for dinner. I’ll update my review after I’ve had their dinner as well.

Jackson was our server and it started great from there. Drinks are always good. The firecracker shrimp is a favorite. Food was better than expected. Had not been in for a while because expectations last time were not. Has been at is current location for years.

Their J5 Smashburger truck is open during lunch only and is truly one of the best smashburgers around. Their matchstick fries are garlicky and perfectly crisp. It cost less than fast food and unbeatable quality…also the friendliest people. Need to make sure they have reason to keep this lunch service going! Check em out! They don’t have a separate listing for the truck and it’s hours so just call the regular number for a carry out order, or stop by between 11-2 most days. 10/10

Excellent customer service from the moment we walked in to when we walked out. Our waiter, Max L, was very attentive and we had numerous other staff stop by to clear dishes, refill waters and check in. However they are training staff is impressive and paying off! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm & welcoming. Bonus – lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend!

We ate an early dinner and shared the restaurant with folks from just off work having a beer to families enjoying a Friday dinner. Our server Jackson was fun and professional, always there without being in the way. Manager was hands on, checking orders, visiting with patrons, and cleaning tables…whatever was required for smooth operation and excellent experience.
Bulleitt rye old-fashioned was a bullseye and they even had a wine for the wine ponce; Electric Jellyfish for me. Firecracker shrimp could be a meal on its own, lightly fried with a yummy slaw.
Our prime filets were moist and perfectly prepared…admit we’re generally hesitant to order steaks out, but were not disappointed, very pleased in fact.
Bustling, fun atmosphere, with plenty of room outside if preferred.

The way staff is super friendly, the food is awesome. Good value as well. My wife loves the veggie plate which is just 4 of their sides. O like the steaks and their fish is good too.

I think the best description of J5 would be modern rustic. When you approach the property it has an older, weathered, backyard patio vibe, but inside the decor is upscale, with deep rich colors and polished woodwork, splashed with progressive design elements (you can look up and see twinkling stars!). There are 3 garage doors (adding to the homelike atmosphere) that can be opened to pair the formal dining room with a huge deck to create an open dining feel for the whole restaurant. One of the owners introduced herself and told us the history of the restaurant which was enjoyable. The food was great, especially my burger which was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and was served on the most delicious bun! There’s a full bar for cocktails before dinner. Definitely try out J5!
