Running errands this past Monday – January 11th and stopped in for a slice of Pizza.
Actually ordered the Plain Slice and a Pizza Pretzel.
Took it to go due to sitting area being very crowded.
Found a quiet spot to park and chowed down.
The slice was floppy, very average taste which had a subtle hint of garlic powder or salt to cover the bland taste of the crust, sauce and cheese.
It also could of been baked longer with more crisp.
The pretzel was similar in taste, cheese, sauce and a soft, floppy presentation that definitely needed to be baked longer and crisped up so that the outside would of been crustier.

The Pizza here is way better than Pizza Hut.
The coffee here is better than Dunkin Donuts.
I didn’t share photos because I devoured it because it was absolutely delicious. The food, beverages and service here is completely worth it. I enjoyed myself and had a nice time!!! It’s especially great in the summer when you want to go out for something really good. This is one of the real places you go to when you want the best and it’s time to have the best and maybe even if it’s important. It has real pizza booths that are adorable as well.

J2 Pizza South — The Makom Kavuah of Every Lakewood Yungerman Who “Just Needs Something Quick” But Somehow Ends Up Sitting Down for a Full Seudah
If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “I’m just running in for one slice,” and then suddenly you’re holding a full tray of ziti fries, garlic knots, sushi, and a backup slice “just in case,” then you, my friend, have experienced the J2 effect.
Walking into J2 South is mamash like walking into a Lakewood version of Grand Central Station — people coming, people going, someone yelling “ready order 47!” another guy asking if they still have the good fries left, and a bochur pacing back and forth doing a cheshbon if he should spend the extra $2.50 on a drink. Ahhh, it’s heimish.
The pizza? Exactly what you need it to be. Solid, reliable, straight-up geshmak. The kind of slice that doesn’t try too hard but still hits the spot every single time.
The ziti fries? Let me tell you — if you haven’t had them yet, cancel your plans and go. It’s basically what would happen if a yeshiva cook and an Italian chef made shidduchim.
The sushi? Honestly? Surprisingly good. Not “fancy date night sushi,” but “I’m already here, let me just grab it” sushi — and that’s a category of its own.
The atmosphere is classic Lakewood pizza shop energy: kids running around, bochurim doing post-seder shmoozing, and one guy in the corner who looks like he hasn’t sat down to a real meal since Elul zman. It’s loud, it’s lively, it’s lebedig — but in the best way.
Even when there’s a long line (Motzai Shabbos… you were warned), they move fast. The staff has that special Lakewood efficiency — zero drama, straight to the point, and always with a smile that says, “Yes, we know we’re saving your supper right now.”
And don’t even get me started on their catering…
Let’s just say: if you’ve ever walked into a simcha and seen beautifully set tables, elegant plating, and then suddenly realized it’s all from J2, the shock alone is worth five stars.
All in all?
J2 South is exactly what a Lakewood pizza shop should be — dependable, delicious, and always there for you when life gets busy and your fridge is empty.
Highly recommended.

I bought a vegetable calzone here. It was mostly cream cheese and vegetables. I didn’t see other cheese because there was so little if any. Disappointed. Was expecting to find some pizza cheese or mozzarella cheese too besides the cream cheese .
