What a pleasant surprise JT’s turned out to be!
My Dad and I are fans of Steaks, Bakers, and Cold Crisp Salads and our normal Go-to is down on Wards Road. I’ll never wait in line for 2 hours on Wards ever again because The Hogtown Ribeye is Huge, seasoned just right, cooked perfectly and y’all know how hard it is to get a to-go order and it’s still delicious after bringing it home….that’s a feat and tells me that had we chosen to dine – in, it would have been THAT much better.
Our orders – 2 Ribeyes- MW & MR, 2 bakers, 2 salads
Courteous and IMMEDIATE service walking in through the door to the bar and seconds later I’m back out the door with 2 massive meals- $22.95 each- total $51.18 $10.00 tip. So call it $60. On Wards we spend on average $80 including tip just to stand around waiting forever for a table. Why do that when you can get a HUGE Ribeye from JT’s and it’s perfect, not tough at all, the cooks NAILED IT.
JT’s is that reminder I needed to support local because everything about the food, service and atmosphere is just better. I’ve seen some not so great reviews and it’s like we didn’t go to the same place. I worked in restaurants for years and I’m tough on them and I’m rarely impressed. This time, definitely impressed and the only downside is that I never gave them the chance until now. If you’re like me and Dad and need potatoes, red meat and a salad from time to time, please, give this place a shot, you’ll be glad you did. Heck, I had so much food I even get to have the rest tomorrow for lunch. Let’s goooooo.

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, we went in on a Saturday night, we figured ok cool they aren’t busy at all. Food should be quick. There were like 4 other tables and only a couple people at the bar. We ordered SANDWICHES AND FRIES! Two hour wait!!! Then when we finally get our food, it was cold and mold on the bread. Then we try again the following weekend, and the owner of the bar Teddy is sitting at the bar of his own restaurant completely hammered and yelling across the bar saying nasty things. Order a cowboy pork chop mp’s and green beans. Curly black hair in my mp’s. We tried returning them to the waitress to bring me mp’s without the hair, we were given attitude and told we could leave if we weren’t happy. We will NOT be back.

The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful… the place is so damn charming, I loved it to death.. the food.. meh.. maybe it’s because we were the first ones in when they opened… but i do hope the food gets better as the day/night goes on… to start the Buffalo wings were awesome… smelled so damn good… I just wanted the sauce to have a bit of a kick..the cheese fries were good.. I had the French dip steak sandwich.. good flavor but the cheese was lacking gooeyness… (kinda cold in the center.. the au jou dip was very tasty…I loved it… my wife had the grilled chicken which was lacking thickness (was extremely thin) and she said the flavor just wasn’t there… again…I hope to come back at a later time to see if quality improves..

Food tastes ok, I’d recommend double checking the food order when picking up or just dining in. Apparently there’s no communication between who answers the phone and who cooks the food.

I had the BIG Catfish sandwich with onion rings! Sandwich was huge and great for FRIED catfish! The onion rings were ok.
I sat at the bar, and Treese was very friendly and welcoming. I also felt very comfortable sitting alone at the bar! ☮️

Terrible! Takes a min to get waited on then get worse from there. I’ve visited a few times but no more after this last. My wife ordered a hamburger, simple right, they put cheese on it. She doesn’t eat cheese and didn’t ask for it. So the cooks solution was to try to scrape the cheese off then reserve the same burger. You could easily see the cheese that had sunk in to the crevices. Talk about cheap!

Food is always good, service is just super slow and dine in and out can take up to an hour or more because the wait staff isnt checking on you. No wait time to sit and eat tho! Great eats, good people/staff make a great atmosphere, just slow at waiting on the tables.

Food is delicious and big portions, ate here for during our lunch hour. There wasn’t a sever greet at the door (only 2 ladies there) so we sat ourselves and she was right over.
