I ordered an oxtail dinner .the oxtails were so small they filled up the whole plate full of rice that I did not order and the mac and cheese needed salt, pepper and garlic powder , that enhanced the flavor. The cabbage was also extremely bland and had collard greens mixed in it . praying there was no pork in there because I don’t eat pork and I see strands of something in the cabbage. The food tasted better after I seasoned it but it still wasn’t worth the money. It definitely seems too good to be true at the price,and this is why.

Today I had the chance to have Lunch at J Secrets Breakfast Spot. I enjoyed the wingette I received a total of 6 which I found to be very flavorful. Along with the chicken I order kale and Mac -n cheese with Rice and gravy. The Sides however were a bit on the bland side the portion size were average. The gentleman that serviced me was friendly. I also am a caterer in the local areas and and found the food to be cooked thoroughly but the sides could use a little more flavor. keep up the good work J Secrets

Today was my first trying the food. There was a pop up at the Patriots stadium. The food was good considering it was prepared at a baseball stadium. The service was good the fish was the star. The price was reasonable. I can’t wait to try the food at the actual restaurant.

I’ve been trying to find a decent black owned soul food restaurant near me, so my brother told me about J Secrets, I ordered the oxtails with cabbage and mac and cheese. I must say that was the best oxtail dinner I’ve had in awhile served with courtesy, profession, respect and a warm smile! I will definitely make this my soul food spot!

Honestly so disappointed. I got the oxtail dinner & I was praying for them to put their foot all in it. They did not , the oxtail was as tough, no seasoning. The cabbage was bland, soggy. The rice was about the best part. Minus the ground beef in my rice??? Wouldn’t recommend

Work for the plainfield fire dept and came today for lunch. Got the salmon cakes with grits and collard greens and cabbage on the side. Cabbage was a lil bland but everything else was on point. They definitely are about to get all my money.
