This was my first time trying J san. Im a fan of japanese curry so decided to try the fullerton location.

We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one other family. So plenty of space. I can see it getting crowded easily during busy times.

This is a sit down style place. We were given menus, ordered at the table, got food and paid like a standard resteraunt. So probably not the best if looking for a fast food style setting.

We got chicken katsu curry and spicy beef curry. Both were delicious but if I had to rate it, it would be behind coco. The chicken curry wasnt all too spicy. Maybe mild. The beef did have a little kick to it.

Each dish was $14. With two drinks and tip came to around $40 for two people. Not cheap but not the worst.

My only real complaints were they left the front door open and flies got in and they kept playing the same song over and over again.

Would recommend but there are definitely better curry places around.

Excellent food. Slightly overpriced but delicious!! Will definitely come back.

I found this place cause it’s close to the yoga place we have been going to. So happy we did. It’s perfect. Ordered the Vegan Ramen from there — it came with the mushroom broth with amazing flavor.

Tonkotsu Spicy Miso’s broth is good and perfect spice level for me. The only thing i didnt like is the chashu, its was too dry.

Disappointed. I ordered Tonkotsu Spicy Miso and it came with only a slice of chashu and some more without egg. I give 3 stars for the food because of the broth still nice.

Another ramen place you can try but not much to recommend it. the facility is plain and tired looking. On a hot afternoon they had the door wide open and it was hot and noisy inside. Service was efficient but not terribly friendly. The ramen was very decent but nothing special. I had the Kara age chicken bowl and there was nothing special about the rice and bland chicken. We think there are better options out there.

This place is bomb. I’m a broth guy and I liked the Black Tonkotsu bowl, got it medium spicy too because I like it. Flavorful with good noodles too.

They also have the best spicy edamame, other places don’t do it like they do

I want to try their entire menu.

Is a good place to eat ramen but when you pay you can’t put 0 on tip they get mad is required to leave at least 10% basically is obligatory to leave a tip that’s a big no for me im not saying is bad food the food is great but the service is horrible! Just so you know you need to leave a tip for sure otherwise they get mad!

When you eat a lot of ramen, there are certain things that you come to expect – buttery soft chashu is one of them. It’s sad to say, you will not find it here. At least not on this night. The pork was firm to the tooth, and a bit too salty for my taste. Perhaps they let it cook too long. In fact, I didn’t even finish the two pieces that they provided.

The miso broth (they offer spicy, or not. I chose the not) was flavorful. The noodles were thin (I pulled some up to show you in my image). I prefer thick curly noodles, but these were perfectly cooked and were more than acceptable. And they include half an egg, which many places make you pay for.

Three stars may be a bit harsh, but if you have more than four in your party, you will be crowded, or stuck with a table on the end of your booth for four. Or squeezed together on your booth bench. Spartan is a generous description of the interior. Five bare wooden booths with a thin cushion on the seat and a couple small tables for two. I may have caught them on an off night, but I don’t think I’ll be back.
