You can’t go wrong with J&S. The catfish is great. It’s always hot and fresh. The catfish is crispy and has the right amount of batter. They do tend to get busy and crowded, but the wait is not too long. They are always friendly! The fries are pretty good too. This is definitely one of our go-to’s.

The gentleman, years ago was a wonderful customer, oriented person. I don’t remember his name! The cooks, would get your order, to your specific order! Today the fish is slice thinly! The cashier today is wonderful, fast and accurate! But whoever is slicing the fish on the market side, of the restaurant? It use to be ok. The last 2 times I have been, I ordered catfish. Both times, I was given swai. I know the difference between the two. I’m a catfish lover. Swai is a lot cheaper than catfish, but they still charge you catfish prices. I just can’t go back anymore. But customer service is always good.

Oh my why is this buffalo fish so bland? No salt or pepper less alone any type of seasoning. So disappointed because I haven’t been here since 2019. You use to be able to order a four piece and get 1 or 2 extra pieces for free but not anymore but it also looks like they are not cutting them in half anymore (thats a good thing). Because this fish is SO bland I’m glad there was no extra given because this meal will end up in trash. I will not be back, sigh sad face.

One of my favorite fish joints in the Dallas Metro. Now, they have added grilled fish and shrimp to the menu! The grilled fish is very tasty, moist, and flaky. The grilled shrimp has a nice spice seasoning to it. I ordered a 2 piece fish with 6 shrimp, and that had me laid out lol. If you haven’t visited these guys yet, you need to give them a try.

I’ve been eating fried catfish my whole life, and I usually stick to places with African American cooks who know the craft. I was a little hesitant at first since J&S Catfish is run by Latinos, but… their customer base is mostly African American, which gave me confidence they know their catfish. The first time I went I had an amazing experience, this time it was okay. The hush puppies were a little overcooked. The fish was good. The fries could’ve used a little bit more seasoning. I ordered the 10 piece catfish nugget; very good price. It comes with two slices of bread and fries. I ordered 10 hush puppies on the side with some Texas toast. The sauce you see is the tartar sauce and hot sauce they give you which I mix together and it’s pretty good. If I would’ve rated it the first time I went it definitely would’ve got 5 stars. Other than the not so tasty fries and overcooked hush puppies the price was very fair. I would go back its a great hole in the wall type place.
