This is a great local place to gather. Recently sold to new owners who are tweaking the menu and are going back to the original name, The Pump. Pretty good food, great prices. Parking available in the back with an enclosed patio back there, too. Love the vintage pics of Lithopolis recently added, too.

They have recently changed the name to The Pump House. It’s a great place to gather with family and friends. You can sit inside and enjoy the local charm or enjoy the enclosed patio outside.

Lots of good food to choose from! Some of my favorites are the double cheeseburger, meatball or Italian subs. Even the pizza is quite good!!

Great prices, friendly staff, overall great experience!

Great place for a hometown bar. Lots of friendly faces including the bartenders. The majority of the food is actually quite tasty. Can’t go wrong with the double cheeseburger, meatball or Italian subs. Even the pizza is quite good and this is coming from someone that transplanted out here from NJ, practically the pizza capital of the world.

I’ve ate here and loved this place for 20 some years now and I love w writhing from their pizza and subs (Italian with hot peppers is AMAZING!!) to their fried chicken and fish dinners!! My 9 year old daughter and 5 year old nephew love everything I eat! I would recommend this place over and over to anyone that asks! I am always introducing it to family and friends who ask when visiting “Best place around here to get pizza and beer?”

Im new to J&R. I started comimg here about 3 weeks ago. I got a job around the area and a co worker told me about this place and their great food.
I 1st ordered their hamburger deluxe and cheese sticks. Omg they are amazing. The lady that works there during the day is very nice and always makes sure the food is cooked great and always gets my order right every time. (:
I always make sure to tip her to show her I appricate her and the food.
I’ve had their hamburgers, pizza, salads, almost everything. I still havent had a chance to try the fish yet, but one day I’ll order the fish dinner. (Fish dinners are after 4pm)
They have the best Italian dressing. Its homemade and omg its addicting!
I go here 3 times a week. They have soooo much different food I don’t get bored. I seen where someone said it was pricey in the reviews. I’m sorry, but if you think this place is expensive I’d like to know where you’re eating to get this great quality of food for less. I can order a large pizza for $13.00, pop for .75cents a can, yummy subs for $6.50, and a Hamburger for only $2.50. This place has deep fried green beans, egg rolls, fish, chicken, pizza, hamburgers, subs, hot dogs, French fries, wings, jalapeno poppers and more.
I’m extremely satisfied with their food and pricing. If they charged people less they wouldn’t make a profit. I am so happy with the prices I always tip.
The bar is a nice little place too. So for those looking for a little place with good food and a beer, this is the place to go.
I hope my review was helpful to those that stop by and read these.
By the way, the crust may seem different because every time you make a new pizza the consistency will always be different. They are a small business that do everything from scratch. Their crust is great in my opinion. However, if you like your pizza cooked and cut a certain way, just ask them if they can make it the way you want it. (:
Thank you J&R for the amazing food!

The Italian subs and pizza subs are the absolute best. It’s the bread that makes it. Pricing is awesome due to the fact it’s in small town Ohio.

If you’re looking for a fancy place, this ain’t it! This is a hole in the wall where 90% of the customers are regulars. Think Cheers

Um, nope. Not a fan. I don’t like my pizza to come cut into tiny pieces (like Donato’s – don’t like their pizza either, btw), found the crust to be flat and tasteless, and not a fan of the type of pepperoni used. The only decent thing was the price ($13 for a large). Frozen pizza from the grocery store is WAY better, IMO. Extremely disappointed.

I had a hard time giving this place one star, it is under new ownership and the quality has went straight to hell. The menu stated 6 wings in an order however we were told by our waitress it was only 5 now because they went to a larger wing, I’m guessing the previous wings were quail wings because these were about the smallest chicken wings ever and they were the ones that are sold by Cisco as a second with broken bones and deformed pieces. I ordered a sub and I ordered extra meat, it had 6 of the smallest cuts of meat I had ever seen, paper thin. I still had to take the meat off one half my sub and place it on the other half so I could eat it, the bread was so dried out it just fell apart as I was trying to eat it. We were told the chicken hadn’t changed under the new ownership (my wife’s favorite) it was nothing like the old broasted chicken and on top of that, it tasted like fish from their dirty deep fryers. Do yourself a favor if you have fond memories of JR, just be satisfied with those and don’t expect the same wonderful food that you use to get there. The new owners obviously don’t eat their own food or at least not the same food they serve to their customers. We were very very disappointed.

Ordered take out for the first time at J&R’s and was spoken to very rudely for no reason by the old man who just seems to naturally be an ass. He should know how to properly interact and speak to customers if he is going to assist in running this business. Will not be returning.
