We were in FairPlay, Co and multiple locals recommended this little pizza place. When pulling into the parking lot there is all the amazing pizza smells. This little food truck is producing pizzas from one oven and everyone in town says it’s worth the wait. The locals are friendly and people are hanging out waiting for their pizza to be ready in the local grocery store parking lot. We ordered a 14″ Hot Honey Pizza (Double pepperoni, extra cheese and hot honey) and All Meat Calzone. The crust is fantastic. It is light and crispy. It holds the toppings and does not bend. The pizza was well balanced with toppings to crust. The red sauce is very flavorful. The calzone is made traditionally without red sauce. They use real ricotta and mozzarella inside the calzone. The cheese with the crunchy crust is the real star of this calzone. The meat inside was well cooked and did not take over the calzone. It was the best calzone we have ever eaten. If you are looking for a fantastic pizza place J.R.s does not disappoint.

Finally tried this, and now I wish I had a lot sooner. It is very good pizza. He was very busy today and up front about how long it would take. It was worth the wait.

I hope it moves inside the old brewery, this would be great pizza to eat fresh, 20min drive back home but it was still great.

I would highly recommend coming here! Delicious pizza with a beautiful view! Their pizza was incredibly fresh and made perfectly. Their crust was to die for and so was the cheese bread.
I’m a vegetarian and they kept the pepperonis on one side, which I really appreciated! Definitely the best pizza my husband and I have had by far!! They were a bit pricey, but overall the pizza was so worth it.

Ordered a pepperoni jalapeño calzone. The guy cooking didn’t speak loud enough for me to hear. Waited for my order and it came out pretty fast. Drove back 5 minutes away and found the inside cold and dough, doughy. I had to microwave it to get it warm. Disappointed as the reviews were overwhelming great

It was so tasty—do yourself a favor and skip all the other pizza places in FairPlay; come here for a bite instead. The prices were also very reasonable. Waited outside for about 15 minutes directly in front of the window while the person inside was working with no acknowledgement we existed. Finally opened the window and asked what we wanted, I greeted him and said hello, how’s it going, and he just repeated “what do you want?” Gave him our order and he said it’d be about an hour. We just left. I’m sure the food is great, the pictures look awesome, but I have no idea what people are taking about when they say the staff is friendly. It genuinely felt like we were inconveniencing him by wanting to give them business.

Out of all the pizza places Ive tried in the area in the past 10 years living in town, this is by far the best and no where around even compares. I wish someone would of told me to try it earlier. Every time it’s been excellent and the crust is bomb.
