My partner and I met friends at J.R. Neighbors for lunch. Our party comprised of 4 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 pre-schooler. According to my friend, they have the best burgers in Etown! ♀️
There are a few parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant (maybe 5, with 2-3 slots being reserved for handicap). There are nearby parking lots with plenty more parking. As it was a Sunday, we had no trouble finding parking.
There were a few people ahead of us, maybe three different parties. My partner and I did not have to wait to be seated since the friends we were meeting had already arrived and got a table.
We greeted our friends then reviewed the menu. Since it was around 12ish on a Sunday, only the brunch menu was available. Not long after, our waitress arrived to take drink orders. Shortly after that, and after the drinks arrived – pineapple mimosas, apple juice, and water, we ordered our food…mostly everyone had a burger.
I had the Texan burger/sandwich which came on a Texas toast, hence the name, and my partner had the Newberry Smash burger (double). Each came with a choice of “regular” fries or tots. I wanted sweet potato fries, but again, since it was Sunday, only the brunch menu and what was displayed was available. So, I settled for regular fries.
My burger was good albeit a bit messy with the sunny side egg running everywhere! The bacon topping the burger was perfectly done with the right crispy/crunchy consistency. My mimosas was refreshing except I did not get much of a pineapple taste. The fries were fresh and appropriately seasoned, not too salty and not too bland, just right. We were all full from our meals so we did not even consider dessert!
The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded, so the atmosphere was quite. We sat by the windows and were not even distracted by the outside vehicles passing by.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend J.R. Neighbors to anyone looking for good burgers in a good atmosphere in Etown.

Excellent first time lunch visit to J.R. Neighbors. Our server, Eddie, was exceptional. He even recommended the Eattown Hot Chicken sandwich with tots and a side of pimento cheese for me. Great choice, Eddie! I also had a 1996 Rickhouse Rita that was very tasty. My husband ordered the Newberry double smash burger with fries. He enjoyed a Buffalo Trace followed by a Johnny Drum, both on the rocks. Thanks to everyone at J.R. Neighbors for a delightful time!

This place is well worth the the short easy drive off US65. Had the Buffalo Burger and Greens. Both were good. The green were an extra $2, but we’re very, very tasty to my MI pallet.. There is a round about in town and when you come to it it is right before the second exit.. Enjoy. I did.

Checked it out because of previous reviews. It didn’t disappoint. Had their CBS burger with blue cheese. Great selection of bourbons. Tried Hardin Creek Boston. Loved it.

We went about 1pm on a Thursday. Not real busy. Food was really good. I had the loaded tots and my husband ordered a hamburger with tater tots which he said was delicious. The server was friendly and attentive. We would go back again!

Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday, great food, great service. The deviled egg appetizer is amazing. We also got the bison burger and the elk burger. Both are great choices.

Wonderful place for our lunch after a day of shopping. The atmosphere was perfect for us to enjoy our cocktails while catching up with each other. No one had to raise their voice. Service was awesome. We never once had to ask for anything, and the food was delicious. One of our parties tried a vegetarian burger, which was sent back due to a lack of flavor, but outside of that, everything was perfect. Parking was located around the town square and nearby parking lots. Less than a 5 minute walk. This is more of a restaurant setting, so it would also be ok for kids.

Good restaurant with good food, excellent atmosphere and service. Had a great Elizabeth smoked old fashioned, and enjoyed the bologna sandwich and sweet potato fries. The group also loved their burgers. I appreciate their wide variety of bourbons and regional snacks like the bologna sandwich and fried green tomatoes. Pricing was not bad and was a bit less than most city restaurants. Obviously rare bourbon will cost more and you can see from the menu pictures they have some they are charging a lot for, but good for them if they can get it and stay on business. I recommend and will be back.
