I had the pleasure of meeting J.R., yesterday, when I was working in Salem. I googled restaurants near me and took a chance on this place; they did not disappoint. This was THE best barbecue I’d ever eaten (even compared to the south). The ribs and chicken were juicy and the flavor permeated all the way to the bone. This place is a hidden gem; I’m an hour away and plan to make the drive back regularly.

I’ve driven past this place a thousand times but never stopped. I noticed they were open so I decided to go. Let me tell you this is some of the best BBQ I have had. I’ve traveled the BBQ belt down south and they are better than most places I have been. Really friendly with delicious BBQ, what else could you ask for?

We got 2 Rib platters and 1 chicken, with macaroni and cheese and green beans. We couldn’t finish it all, it was great. Stopby Saturday or Sunday and see JR and his Father. They will treat you well and you will be back again. Nice and clean and friendly. And the price is reasonable for what you get…

I went to J.R Barbeque and was blown away by everything that i bought. The ribs were perfect and chicken was absolutely insane. It was soo good that i’m going to place a order and drive 1 hour to go get the food and bring it back to my house. See you on Sunday J.R, please have some ribs, chicken and mac and cheese ready for pickup.

UPDATED REVIEW: you clearly don’t know what heaven and good food are like until you have j.r barbecue. I had the best cheesesteak of my life. The meat was tender and flavored perfectly, had the exact amount of cheese that made it perfect and boyyyyyy don’t get me started on the fried onions on it. The pulled pork was SLAMMMMMINNNNNNNN. Word on the street is they’re going to be open 7 days a week which means I will go poor but at least I’ll be fed and happy.

I literally bring a fork with me in the car when I know I’m getting barbecue. Everything is so delicious and flavorful. The meat is always so tender and never dry. And let me tell you the Mac and cheese omg. It’s heaven in your mouth.
