My friends and I had an outstanding lunch at J. Peters Grill & Bar. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered excellent recommendations that enhanced the entire experience. The side salad was impressively large, very fresh, and full of flavor.

The prime rib is truly the highlight and should not be missed. I ordered mine medium rare, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. My friend requested well done, and remarkably, hers was equally perfect—tender and flavorful without being dry. The warm croissants drizzled with honey were a wonderful touch and absolutely delicious.

While the side dishes were good, they were not quite as memorable as the main course. That said, the overall quality of the food, combined with exceptional service, made this a fantastic dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning.

Thank you, Cassandra, for making our first visit a pleasant one. The food was wonderful and plenty. You went above and beyond to take care of our table of four. I highly recommend (my plate) the Flounder Fillet Platter and (my husband’s) Slow Roasted Prime Rib Sandwich seved with Au Jus, and his side was fries. I hope to visit again next time we are in downtown Anderson.

When I first ate here a few months ago I loved the chicken and fries. As I have expanded my horizons I tried the J Peters Chicken which is really good. Most places other than Olive Garden I don’t like salads but this place has amazing salads with just the right flavor profile. On my visit today service was great as always and made sure my food was just what I wanted down to the most minute details. They even accommodated my brother wanting a salad despite having a kids meal. Very good place. I love going here!

I’ve been going here for years & I have never been disappointed! Tonight was the first time I got the sirloin- it was phenomenal!
I like it cooked medium (a crime I know) but it still had that awesome melt in your mouth flavor. Cody was our server and he did a wonderful job. He was attentive & helpful in working the menu to get us what we wanted. Would highly recommend!

We went to Jpeters on January 24,2026 for our 28th anniversary. The weeks of the big ice storm. Even though the streets were empty they were open and the staff were all pleasant. I ordered the teriyaki Salmon. It was so delicious. The young ma that waited on us was very polite and attentive. We will definitely go back every-time we visit.

We have not been to JPeters in a long time so we decided to stop by because my wife loves their salads. We ordered the soup and salad with the she crab soup. The soup tasted real salty. I asked the waiter about it and he said that he doesn’t think they put extra salt in it. He did not go ask the cooks or anything or offer me anything different. I usually finish all my soup when it’s really good. This time it wasn’t. Will definitely not be coming back any time soon. Bad food and bad service.

The food here has gone down hill. We ordered the house burgers and got under cooked meat and soaking wet buns. Why would you put meat directly off of the grill onto the bun? Have you never heard of resting meat first? Yall were not even busy. Unacceptable for your high prices. Fired before you’re hired..Again

Have eaten at J Peter’s for years and great but in the past 2 years has gone down hilll quality and preparation. This time was the worse’ than ever all of our entries had to go back and were no better the second time around and of course the price has increased and the quality was not the same. We will not be going back to any of their restaurants.

We have always loved J Peters. It has been almost 10 years since we moved from Anderson to Phoenix. It was so nice to see this place still serving quality food, generous portions and all with excellent and friendly service. We had the Prime Rib and Sirloin and Shrimp with a house salad. Both were phenomenal. The atmosphere is great in ole downtown Anderson. Hopefully it won’t be so long before we can come back.

We eat here frequently. The food is always good. Today we had lunch and Mike was our server. He was a nice guy and very attentive to our needs. Our go to food here is the chicken strip plate. There’s enough food on the plate to split it between both of our girls (and add on a 2nd salad and have strips to top my salad). It’s not the cheapest but for the atmosphere, food quality and service, the price reflects. Good food, family atmosphere, kind/attentive service.
