Food – came twice while on a work trip. Sausage and ribs were real good. Seasoned and smoked well. Brisket was dry both times even when asking for moist/fatty. The Mac and cheese and veggies were amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect! They greet you when you walk in, seat yourself, our waitress was very friendly and personable. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name. We had the Cowboy plate with Mac & cheese, pinto beans, & an appetizer of fried mushrooms. Also, had to get a banana pudding to go. Can’t wait to eat that later tonight!

Chesney was an absolutely outstanding server! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. She knew the menu inside and out and gave excellent recommendations that truly elevated our meal. Her attention to detail, friendly attitude, and exceptional service made our experience unforgettable. Chesney went above and beyond in every way, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for her!

This was a great find for lunch on a long drive. I had the brisket and sausage, and it was great. The wait for the food was reasonable, and the waitress checked back several times to ensure everything was right and to see if I needed anything else. While I didn’t get dessert, it sure looked good. Looking forward to my next visit.

Love there cat fish and shrimp plate, the burgers are good as well let’s not forget to mention that they have lots of different desserts that are pretty good and tasty, the people there are very nice and helpful, always have a smile. One of the negatives is that they have a bit of dusty animal heads hanging on the walls, so maybe a bit of spring cleaning would help overall I do enjoy going to this restaurant now and then.

All you can eat BBQ on Saturday and Sunday. $26 per person is a steal. You can pick all your can eat catfish, or BBQ. When brought at the right timing, the bbq is very tender. Our initial plate wasn’t tender: meat didn’t leave pork bones. Our 2nd plate was amazing: meat fell off the bones easily.

Best chicken fried steak in Texas. Barbara and Cindy are amazing waitresses, the service was excellent and they were extra busy. The sides were great and a huge selection of pies if you have room.

I’ll say that I’m still pretty new to southern food and every time I order catfish, I always get disappointed and just never ordered it… UNTIL my husband ordered catfish from J&M’s and this is probably THE BEST AND ONLY CATFISH I WILL EVER EAT! It was so fresh, cooked to perfection! I could not believe a catfish could be this simple and SO GOOD!!! So glad we got the large size order of catfish to take home.
I also ordered the brisket and it was good as well! The sausage had a spice to it and gives a nice kick! It’s the spiciest sausage I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant and it tastes really good I had to take it home. And oh my goodness, I thought I had eaten the best potato salad of all time but J&M’s potato salad was unbeatable. I almost had to stop myself right when I tried it because I was overwhelmed by how good it tasted!!! I am not sure if they sell a tub of this potato salad but I want to get a ton to take home! This is the southern food I was looking for!!
The only thing I was not really impressed is their mac and cheese. It was nothing special. Its neither good nor bad. It was just okay. The cornbread was okay as well. The potato salad was the winner for me!
The waitress Barb was funny, super attentive and caring. Excellent service! Gave us the real southern hospitality and I will definitely come back! The price is not that expensive considering how much food you get. I can order one plate and share with one person for a quick lunch. Next time we come back I will try their pies! We just stopped by here during our visit to the DMV. We are from Killeen and wished this was closer to us but definitely worth the drive!
