Where do I even begin… We’ve lived in Wilmington for over 10 years and have driven past this place countless times. After coming across a TikTok video, I took it as a sign and decided to finally give it a try.
Don’t let the appearance of this Philly fool you. It looks great in photos, but unfortunately, that’s where it ends. I’m a Carolina girl, but I know a good Philly when I see (and taste) one. This one was hard to describe, until you tasted it. The meat was chopped so finely it looked like ground beef. It was extremely dry and completely lacking in flavor. I felt like I was eating a ground beef Philly, losing half the meat with every bite and trying not to choke at the same time.
The fries were another disappointment. We asked for extra crispy, but instead received underdone, mushy fries. They were cooked, sure, but not even close to crispy.
The onion rings were just okay. Not great, not terrible, but tolerable.
We scheduled pickup for 12:00 pm, but arrived around 11:30 and the food was already ready. Because of that, everything was lukewarm, which was disappointing. It seems our food was cooked too early, and the temperature definitely suffered.
I tried to overlook the one-star reviews because people can exaggerate, but unfortunately, those reviews were spot-on, especially regarding flavor and temperature.
We didn’t eat inside, so I can’t comment on cleanliness. However, my husband did mention that the woman who greeted him was nice, so I’ll give credit where it’s due.
Overall, we were very disappointed. We were genuinely looking forward to these Phillies, but the only thing they did was fill us up. No flavor, food prepared too early, and basic instructions not followed, especially when those options are offered by the restaurant and weren’t special requests. This will most likely be our first and last visit. We’ll stick with Peño Philly Cheesesteak Gyro from here on out.

Just moved out here and found my new cheessteak spot ! Flavor was good, a little smaller than expected or what I’ve had at other cheessteak shops but it was still good. I will definitely be coming back

I give up with this place, I keep seeing these amazing looking steak and cheese on social media and this is the second time I’ve tried this location and was extremely disappointed with my order. This is supposed to be a 6-inch sub. My hand isn’t even 6″ long so the sub is definitely only about 4″ inches. How does that even happen? There was something white on it, I did ask for mayonnaise it wasn’t much so either the mayonnaise was left off or the cheese. It’s things like this that make me mad at myself for leaving tips on call in orders. This doesn’t look like $11 worth of anything. The meat by itself really doesn’t have much flavor. I’ve heard you have to go to the one on Oleander for a good sub.

Walked in to place a first time “carry-out” order n sat at table and was waited on by the sweetest lady to work at any testaurant I believe! She was friendly and accommodating w/ my order and refilled my tea before I left. Firm believer in the fact that ” to do a good job you have to care first”! She definitely cared and it showed! Thas nk you ma’am! Made my day and I’ll be back in the future.

We LOVE coming to this place year after year during our annual family vacation to Carolina Beach. The Philly cheesesteaks are amazing and we dream about their Jalepeno poppers. The service is always efficient and friendly and they are easily able to accommodate our larger groups. Highly recommended.

Waited nearly 2 years to try this place out and have now been there 2 times, first and last. Ordered an Italian hoagie with “deluxe” chili and a cheese steak hoagie with onion rings, very expensive for what you get. Absolutely no seasoning on anything, onion rings greasy and over cooked, chili practically tasteless, and hoagies definitely not “Philadelphia-style”. Asked for the free pickles after our meal was delivered to our table and received an unnecessary explanation. At checkout, I couldn’t resist explaining that our meal was totally disappointing and was informed it was due to a manpower shortage! Do yourself a favor and go to Jersey Mike’s instead (especially “Mike’s Way”) for better quality, taste, and value!

Update 2/5/26 – tried again because we used to like this place a lot but the server was awful (distracted taking the order because of her earpod), dining room smelled like raw sewage (bad) and my hoagie was, well, all kinds of wrong and served open faced, just a 1/2 pound slab of turkey (quality turkey) slapped on a club roll. Not even a real hoagie roll. If they don’t fix things Wawa will put them out of business. Very sad.
We usually have a good experience but today’s experience was a mess. The young lady taking our order was really struggling with the system. Our order was all wrong. We ordered a cheese hoagie with mayo and quite specifically requested no tomatoes and no oil and vinegar. We got one with no mayo drenched in oil and vinegar and stuffed with tomatoes. They usually pack the sandwich with cheese. I’d be surprised if it had 5 full slices on the one we received. The sausage on the sausage was over cooked beyond recognition! It’s obvious they cook it off in bulk and sits drying out in a fridge somewhere instead of cooking it in the sauce and keeping it on low until used. The French onion soup was good but if that was a bowl, I’d have to assume the cup is served in a shot glass. Big swing and a miss tonight. Do better.

Today, I had business in the area so I stopped there for first time to have lunch. One customer at a table. I sat down and waited and waited for service while 3 girls chatted behind the counter!! Finally, a drink. Girl took my order for corned beef on rye. What I got was the furthest sandwich ever from a NY Deli style Corned beef on rye! Some meat on dry rye toast. I had to ask for mustard. She brought me 3 little packets. Never saw her again. End of meal, I asked about missing pickle! “If you wanted a pickle, you should have asked for one!” What??
Never again. Place was empty. I wonder why?!? Terrible food, service and no ambiance of any sort!! Yuck!

First I waited in the drive-thru line for over 5 minutes behind another car to get up to the window. After I got my food and drove the 3 minutes home, I opened the bag and the outside paper wrapping of the cheesesteak was completely soaked through with grease. I could not even pick up the cheesesteak to put it onto a plate without it almost falling apart because the bread was so soggy. There was barely any cheese and the food was not hot.
