This place is terrible!!! It’s so expensive for the tiny serving you get and the service sucked I ordered and they said 30 minutes, it ended up taking 57 minutes, also you have to buy rice separate which sucks as to how cheap it is. The food was overly salty besides the fried rice and white rice I got egg drop soup it tasted like Campbells condensed chicken noodle soup but with egg in it it was that salty, the fried was super bland and greasy like all the weight was oil it didn’t have wok hey on it. The meals themselves tasted rancid and overcooked probably the oil or unsanitary kitchen conditions. Awful overall never going here again or recommending it to anyone that wants to try it!

I started eating at this place when they first opened I think in 2007? They’re still amazing. It’s the epitome of the best “hole in the wall” hidden restaurant. The quality of the food has always been amazing. JJ, I just wish you were still open on the weekends. That’s my only complaint: we don’t have enough access to the wonderfulness of JJ’s.

Food was hot and great! Pictured is the general chicken with steamed rice. Perfect amount of spice and sweetness. They do only accept cash or check right now so just be aware of that. Really friendly lady at the cash register 🙂

JJ’s is one of the two good Chinese takeout places in Houghton (along with Ming’s). The sesame chicken and general chicken are both very good, and the egg drop soup is exactly the “takeout style” that I like.

This place is great to eat at its family friendly and they take cash and check only you can come in the restaurant to order for Togo or dine in or call the phone number and order. They have meals for those that are vegan and those who are not.

Food was good. If you’re craving this, it will definitely hit the spot! The menu is only on Facebook and the page is extremely outdated. They only have one photo of the menu and its next to impossible to read. There’s a ton of info in a very small space, plus its a low res photo. It would be nice if the cash/check only was a bit more noticable.

I eat here weekly because the food is good. I see negative reviews about the wait time and difficultly ordering, and will agree with that – so plan ahead and be patient. However, food quality has never been an issue in my experience.

I have been eating here since they first opened in 2006/2007. Fantastic food! Chicken hurricane is the best if you request to add bean sprouts. Finally, the only reason they get 4 stars is recently it has been really difficult to call in your order on most days. Used to be really easy to call in & place an order. Now it’s almost impossible. Best to go in & order in person, otherwise you may never get to taste their delicious food 🙁

We tried this for the first time today! I have been really wanting chicken fried rice for awhile so I was looking forward to it. Terrible and I mean Awful. The rice defiantly was not fried the carrots hard as a rock. The egg they put in was gooey..not cooked. Sesame chicken was microwaved I think and served in some unidentified brown sauce I have never seen on Sesame chicken before!!! Oh please save your 30 for a place that deserves your business. The young people who work there seem very nice and should move on to a place who teaches proper food preparation..and how to serve customers who pay a exorbitant price. TAKE HEED BEWARE RAW and Undercooked
