Steaks are thin. 30$ steak that was less than 1/4 inch thick. Wife found not 1, not 2, but 3 pieces of hair in her food. Hairy lasagna is crazy. All the reviews that sold us to come here were the thick cut steaks in the pictures. I imagine this place used to be good. Wouldn’t recommend to a dog. You’re better off anywhere else.

We came in on Thursday for lunch and placed a pick up order at the host stand. I ordered the Sierra burger with garlic fries and their chocolate strawberry shake. My husband got their JD burger with garlic fries and a chocolate shake and our daughter got their grilled cheese with cheddar. The burgers were so delicious and juicy, I liked the chocolate strawberry shake more than the chocolate one, and I probably wouldn’t get garlic fries again because they just put minced garlic right on top. The grilled cheese was buttery and so yummy.
I came in and it was not busy and we were the only pick up order while we were there. There was a woman who was at the cash register who was getting ready to leave and was really avoiding helping us, so we had to wait for another waitress, which didn’t take too long but no one was in a hurry to help us. I also tried calling a couple times while we were driving over to place the order over the phone and no one answered. Then I placed the order and no one came to tell us it was ready even though we sat right by the cash point waiting for it. I had to go up and ask. The lady that didn’t want to help me was still there and still avoiding helping me, she wouldn’t even turn around and look at me. We finally got someone to come over and the food had been ready, I don’t know how long it was just sitting there and no one was going to say anything.
The restaurant is a little old and small and connected to a casino. Its atmosphere and service were not great but we will be coming back for the good food.

Food is adequate. I would venture to say that J D Slingers is more of a diner than a steakhouse. The burgers are a safe bet.
The service was above average with a friendly and courteous wait staff.
The interior is very typical of a small town casino restaurant. Not bad, very homey. It doesn’t have the glitter that big casinos tend to have. I enjoy a meal without the glitz.

We waited for a hour and half for 5 steaks. The worst part is we waited until 30 mins before close, and the food still not here. We got up and asked for to go but they didn’t give us any utensils when we specific asked for. I ordered a 6oz sirloin steak for rare but it turned out like a beef jerky that absolutely zero red in the middle. The garlic bread came out soggy and it’s not crispy at all. Another thing is all of us are ordered either rare or medium rare, so it should be a quick cook but how it take one and half hour to make? When we got the food, it’s not even hot, the bread is soggy.

So we were in town for a baby appointment and I wanted a good cheeseburger for my birthday lunch. Well after some searching I came upon this place and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I had the Pastrami Cheeseburger and it was more then I expected. It was big and juicy and full of flavor. My girl ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it also was big, juicy and full of flavor. The garlic fries were also very good and excellent service as well. Highly recommend this place.

Great service, nice environment….
Chicken and green chili omelet, wonderful and inexpensive…definitely a winner….full of meat!
Also, the chicken teriyaki stir fry is simple yet amazingly full of flavor!
Damn Good Chicken sandwich while a tad spicy is still wonderful and worth a look.

Ordered drinks took a full 15 minutes to get them, saw our waitress with them in her hand helping other tables, then she said it took so long as they were made wrong the first time. They were jack and diet. After the meal we tried to catch her attention without any luck after 10 minutes we finally had to stop the other waitress to ask for our bill, the waitress with all the neck tattoos just knows how to become invisible. Good luck if you go there, maybe just don’t sit in her section.

We ordered the 10oz Ribeye Medium Rare with over easy eggs, hash browns and sourdough toast, and the Hoss. The Ribeye had more fat and gristle than meat, the hash browns had a strange flavor, almost sweet like root beer. The toast was white bread instead of the sourdough. We do not usually complain about our food, but steak and hash browns were inedible. When we told our server she said “well, what do you want me to do about it, I’ll get my manager.” We heard her complain to her manager about our concern, then after the manager came over we explained it again. She said, “ok, I’ll go see what I can do.” the waitress returned with the ticket and set it on the table without saying a word. They discounted $2.30, the steak and eggs were $23. We have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. However, we will not be going back.

Service was great, but the food was absolutely disgusting. We couldn’t even take more than a couple bites. With only the few bites I took, the food had made me feel so sick on the drive home I kept having this feeling that I needed to pull over. I ordered a phillycheese steak and the bread tasted old! we had also ordered fried pickles with onion bites. Needless to say, none of this food should have ever been put on to a plate and served to anyone!

TERRIBLE!! Stopped here in 2024 and thought we would try again to get breakfast on our way out of town. First time it took forever to get out breakfast and chalked it up to being busy. Second time was worse than the first! We were there even longer the second time taking an hour to get a simple little 2 egg breakfast and coffee; coffee was awful. Can’t believe it gets such a plus rating as the place is not that clean either. The poor waitress kept apologizing and we really felt sorry for her. WILL NEVER STOP HERE AGAIN!!!
