Our waiter you were amazing ! Thank you now to
The Food WOW it was delicious and so tasty from the raw oysters to the NY strip with cooked oysters and that gnocchi to die for WOW the Belgium chocolate cake. I am still dreaming of this food.
I can’t say it enough how grateful we are for J Carver by far my favorite place #1 in Austin . If I can give you 10 stars ⭐️ or more I would. Always in our hearts
Thank you from Analia &William Garcia from Miami FL. ❤️❤️
We ate 6 oysters first. Perfectly shucked and beautiful. All accompaniments were on point. Next we had the hamachi crudo. It was Smokey sweet and sour. Great balance. Then we had the bone marrow. This is the dish I will crave and will bring me back for another visit. Thankfully they gave us warm moist towels after this dish because we were covered in meat butter. Before we got our steak they had us select our own style of steak knife. I thought this was a fun twist in the experience. Our entree was the porterhouse medium rare. Cooked perfectly and Smokey from the wood grill. Our sides were the baked potato gnocchi, mushrooms, and fried oyster with bernaise. For dessert we had the bananas foster bread pudding. All good!
J Carvers is great for special occasions I would highly recommend.
That said, I did feel the pacing between courses was quite slow. The escargots were delicious, the Caesar salad was very good, and the center cut steak was flavorful, although the portion seemed smaller than expected. The fries, on the other hand, were outstanding! One really fun touch: you can actually choose what type of knife you want to use for your steak, which is different and cool.
What I do think needs attention is the dress code. This is a high-end restaurant that promotes a business casual environment, yet several tables around us had guests wearing baseball caps during dinner, and at one point a man came in wearing denim shorts and a hat. In my opinion, that shouldn’t be acceptable for a restaurant that presents itself as fine dining — it takes away from the overall elevated experience that J Carver’s is clearly trying to offer.
Last night, my husband and daughter treated me to an incredible birthday dinner at J Carver’s, and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely exceptional.
We were warmly greeted by Andrew, the host, who immediately made us feel special. Without us even mentioning my name, he knew exactly who I was and that we were there to celebrate my birthday, such a thoughtful and impressive touch. When we were seated, I was delighted to find a personalized menu reading “Happy Birthday Adeline,” along with a beautiful card signed by the staff. Classy and heartfelt!
Our waiter, Marcus (ask for him if you want top-notch service), was phenomenal—polite, attentive, and welcoming. He made us feel right at home and recommended a specialty cocktail that my husband and I ordered… and WOW, it was to die for. Marcus expertly walked us through the menu, from appetizers to entrées, and every recommendation exceeded expectations.
We started with the crab cake, and I can confidently say no other crab cake compares. I truly believe Gordon Ramsay himself would agree. The halibut was light, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. And the bread? Absolutely mouthwatering.
For our entrée, we shared the Prime Tomahawk Ribeye, paired with baked potato gnocchi, glazed baby carrots, and asparagus, every bite was outstanding.
Thank you, J Carver’s, for making my birthday feel so special and memorable. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and thoughtful touches throughout. We will definitely be back! ️
Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in their signature dishes, from succulent steaks grilled to perfection to vibrant vegetarian options that even the most dedicated carnivores will rave about. Every plate is a work of art, showcasing flavors inspired by both local Texan culture and global culinary traditions. Carver Restaurant promises not just a meal but a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend planning a visit when in Austin; it’s a gem worth savoring!
Highly recommend the fresh sweet corn brulee, wok fried jasmine rice with blue crab, the baked potato gnocchi, and the spiced pear champagne margarita.
This is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion, and every time my friend visits— we make time to dine in!
