“B” in ” J &B CAFE ” was very attentive and friendly. She’s on the floor attending customers and asking , if they enjoyed their meal. There were 2 other workers following suit. The service was impeccable, simply because of the friendliness and well crafted knowledge of the menu. Also, the recipes and how every recipe was crafted. I wanted something filling, yet, low cal. Tasty and satisfying also. I know, but, it was 2:30 pm and I am trying to eat better. The suggestion was a veggie wrap with tomato soup. Mmmm! It was absolutely delicious.
I drank a hot green tea to add to my late lunch.
Need less to say, I’ll be visiting soon and more often.
By the way, I also bought a Delicious Banana Cream Pie. Yes, the WHOLE PIE. No regrets. I said that I want to eat better. Hey, it was homemade. Yum.. ! Lol…!!!

Asked for their recommended Best – the Hot Italian and Caramelized Roast Beef sandwiches, but both were low quality. The Hot Italian was bland, and the roast beef had an overly acidic taste that made it hard to eat.
The taco soup was the only decent item we had. Drink sizes were inconsistent, and staff said they couldn’t adjust them.
For nearly $29, the portions were small and the food wasn’t worth the price. Considering the high ratings, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return. Environment is unwelcoming to unfamiliar faces

Cool, eclectic, local lunch spot with a bright atmosphere and old-school flavor. Great lunch specials board and solid menu with American fare. Friendly, low key, comfortable, and very popular with those in-town and in-the-know. Very reasonable prices! In an artsy section of town with many antique stores and historic architecture. Definitely a great place to visit when looking for an alternative to strip malls and highways. Breakfast and Lunch, 7 to 3 pm, M-F. Closed Sat-Sun.

I really enjoyed the attentiveness and the atmosphere. It’s like going back in time and seeing the history of downtown Harlingen! The staff is very friendly and courteous and the food is good as well. I highly recommend!
