Being from the South, we appreciate good BBQ which is few and far between up here. I was pleasently suprised to find this spot on a whim, and we were not dissapointed. At first glance the prices seemed kinda high, but once I saw how big the meat portions are, you realize where the money went. We got the brisket-topped baked potato and a brisket sandwich. Both were delicious, and the brisket had the right amount of smoke and moisture. Great job J&L. We’ll be back to sample that pulled pork next 😉

We used J&L to cater for our wedding, and they did a phenomenal job. The guests absolutely raved about the food! The brisket and the Mac and cheese specifically to die for. Plenty of guests asked to take some home. We also had plenty left over for the next few meals. For a wedding, their prices were incredibly reasonable. They were responsive throughout the process and were set up ahead of timeline. 10/10, would use again!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Barbecue is always expensive, but once you accept that you can come in here and enjoy your food. We ordered the two meat plate and we made it brisket for both meats. Had the mac and cheese and the potato salad. The mac and cheese is amazing. The potato salad in my opinion is a little under seasoned but overall still very very good. The brisket is perfect. Covered with burnt ends. The spicy barbecue sauce is a little too spicy, but if you mix it with the regular barbecue sauce you get the absolute perfect sauce. The cornbread is moist and delicious. It comes with a cinnamon honey butter that couldn’t be better. The woman who took care of us at the counter was friendly. She was keeping up with a very busy crowd and I am very impressed overall. So glad that we have a great barbecue place here in Monroe. We will definitely be back

The service was awesome. The “BBQ” was dissappoitment. The pulled pork was good. The sauce tastes just like Baby Rays. The slaw has pineapple and cran raisins in it!!! The “baked beans” have white northern beans in them!!! I spent over $100 for blah. I’m from Memphis, I am a very harsh judge when it comes to BBQ because I’ve had the real thing, this isn’t it.

Wife and I stopped in the first time for lunch to go. We got the 2&2 deal:two meats and two sides. We also got a spicy sausage and cornbread. We chose brisket, pork, Mac&cheese and baked beans. Everything was cooked nearly to perfection, perhaps a bit dry . The meat was fairly bland and relied on the sauce for flavor and it was okay. Wife found the sauce, sausage and the beans to be too spicy and she didn’t enjoy them because of it. The beans were unique and very good as was the cornbread, the M&C typical. This was four meals worth of food because we got extra meat.

After a nice 2 rounds of disc golf, found this joint that definitely hit the spot! Good service, not all seemed happy who worked there. Yet that didn’t take away from the service. Had the two meat, Mac & Cheese could use a lill love. That cornbread wit the Apple cinnamon butter . Over all place is fire!!!
