Reviews
We sat at the bar to watch Monday Night Football. The only thing I agreed with from the negative reviews was that they didn’t offer water automatically. Other than that, the staff was quick, attentive, and very friendly.
Since they’re new, here’s a quick rundown of everything we tried:
• Complimentary popcorn – spicy, addictive, and such a fun touch.
• Calamari appetizer – hands down the best we’ve ever had. Fresh, not soggy or chewy, and paired with a super flavorful marinara.
• Seared ahi tuna salad – perfectly done and packed with flavor.
• Nashville chicken sandwich – juicy, delicious, and served with incredibly tasty string fries.
• Beefsteak tomato side – fresh and flavorful.
• Not Your Ordinary Mac n Cheese – rich, unique, and definitely not ordinary!
We ended up with lots of leftovers, but it was worth it to sample a little of everything. Lucky for us, this spot is just down the street, can’t wait to come back and try more!
We were seated right away since we had a reservation. James was our server. He was very welcoming, friendly, and was very attentive, which we appreciated. Never had empty glasses and never had to “look for him” if we needed something.
We started with the spinach dip/salsa and chips and a Scorpion sushi roll that James recommended. While I don’t eat sushi, those who did said it was absolutely delicious! Between the table, some of us ordered the prime rib, burgers, Caesar salad, and a few extra sides, desserts, and a few drinks from the bar. Everything was cooked perfectly, as ordered. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the quality of meats were great overall. I will point out the Caesar salad definitely has a strong taste, and a fishy aftertaste which we don’t prefer. (I know how it’s made but usually you don’t taste it.) Desserts ordered were Creme Brûlée and the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The Creme Brûlée was a nice portion to share. The chocolate cake is more dense and more fudge-like. Both are definitely shareable between 2-3 people to enjoy a few bites of each. My son-in-law ordered a Manhattan and it came with a sidecar, which was a really nice touch.
Would NOT recommended this restaurant for babies, toddlers, and smaller children.
Overall, 5 stars for food and service! Posted a TikTok of our experience already as well. We are looking forward to returning and next time, we’re going to check them out for lunch. They do have a nice bar area as well so don’t be afraid to go alone.
My husband and I have had the absolute pleasure of dining at J. Alexander’s Restaurant multiple times since its opening in the Valley of Arizona late last year, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional!
J. Alexander’s has long been a personal favorite of mine—I have a deep and fond history of dining at the restaurant in my home state of Michigan, where we are both from. My husband has also immensely enjoyed dining at J. Alexander’s since the restaurant opened in Chandler, and I had the pleasure of introducing him to the experience.
Experiencing the Chandler location has been especially meaningful, as it has carried forward the very same consistently elevated standards I’ve always associated with the brand.
From the moment you walk through the doors, the atmosphere reflects refined comfort—warm, polished, and inviting—paired with consistently outstanding cuisine.
Every dish we’ve enjoyed has been beautifully presented, expertly prepared, and rich in flavor, showcasing a clear commitment to quality ingredients and thoughtful execution. It has quickly become one of our most trusted and favorite dining destinations in Chandler.
General Manager Archie sets the gold standard for excellence. We had the pleasure of meeting Archie on the evening of 2/3/2026, and his leadership was immediately evident. His presence is professional yet genuinely welcoming—attentive without ever feeling intrusive. He took the time to personally engage with us, ensuring our experience was seamless and enjoyable. Archie’s passion for hospitality is unmistakable, and it is clearly reflected in the confidence, consistency, and polish of the entire dining room.
Manager Seth exemplifies true guest-centered service, and we have seen him many times throughout our visits. His attention to detail and consistent professionalism elevate the experience beyond expectations. Seth has an incredible ability to anticipate needs and manage the dining room with calm precision, all while maintaining a warm and approachable demeanor. His steady presence adds a reassuring layer of excellence that makes every visit feel thoughtfully managed and genuinely welcoming.
It was a pleasure to meet our waiter, Tanner, who made a memorable impression during our dining experience on the evening of 2/3/2026. Knowledgeable, personable, and impeccably timed, Tanner provided exceptional service that enhanced the entire evening. His menu knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and relaxed professionalism made our meal feel effortless and enjoyable. Even during a single visit, it was clear that Tanner takes great pride in delivering high-quality service, and his attentiveness truly stood out.
J. Alexander’s Restaurant in Chandler has masterfully upheld—and honored—the high standards I’ve come to love over the years, and now my husband has joined me in that same sense of admiration. Thanks to leaders like Archie and Seth, along with standout team members like Tanner, the restaurant delivers not only superb food but a consistently elevated dining experience.
It is a restaurant we confidently return to and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking beautiful décor, comfort, and professionalism throughout their dining experience—along with excellence in both cuisine and service.
It is clear that Arizona was eagerly awaiting the opening, as the restaurant developed an almost immediate and loyal clientele. It is always a pleasure to see a vibrant, full dining room, yet we have never had to wait to be seated.
We highly recommend it!
The service you could tell it’s a new staff but everyone was friendly and attentive.
Also a nice touch was the staff outside with umbrellas escorting people to and from their cars since it started to rain.
Items pictured: Chili, Jacks Chicken Tender Platter with Mac and fries as the side. Club sandwich. Salmon. Prime Rib with smashed potatoes. Carrot cake
For dessert my husband & I split the key lime pie & my MIL was given a card signed by all the servers & a piece of carrot cake on the house for her birthday.
We’ll definitely be returning!!
Update: Brought family to dinner at 7pm on a Thursday. Not as impressed – they had been open 3 weeks. Of the 5 of us only 2 were impressed. My wife had daily special Trout with jalapeno sauce. Brother in law had chicken strips – they were good but French fries were only luke warm. Same with 2 others who had fries. Son had French Dip – he said that it was barely warm. I had Baby Back Ribs with Luke warm fries. Good size rack but their BBQ sauce was Black Pepper flavor. I took home 6 ribs and washed off seasoning – still tasted like pepper. Were fall of rib tender but I will not order again!
