Just popped in on a Friday after 7pm for a snack and managed to get squeezed in with no wait. Ordered the artichoke because it is a pretty novel menu item and found it tasty, but messy to handle. Loved the carrot cake with some ostentatiously presented fresh pressed decaf. The salad was full of freshness. No bacon bits here! Very attentive service and clean bathrooms.

Went to J. Alexander’s for a Valentine’s Day dinner on Sunday, and it was amazing! I have been to the Redlands in Hoover, but this was my first time going to the one in Madison, and the experience was certainly worth it. Low lighting at the table and a real candle goes a long way for a good date night. Vibes are exceptional. Steaks are sorta high priced (but is to be expected for a restaurant like this). I had the New York strip with the Maui sauce on the side, and my girlfriend had the lasagna. Both were exceptional. I asked for a Medium Well and got a bit more Well. No pink in the middle, but it still had the juicyness on the inside, so no complaints from me The Maui sauce is the best pairing with a steak at any steak restaurant I’ve ever been to. Try the Maui sauce and you’ll never stop asking for it each time you go. I promise Cheesy spinach dip was amazing. Drinks were top notch The old fashion and peach lemon drop were as good as you could ask for. The lemon drops are practically candy. They have a solid reputation at J. Alexander’s. Hard not to drink a lot of them lol. Especially since you get an extra little bottle of it sitting in ice. They are easily worth the price. Our waitress was fantastic too. Brought extra chips for the spinach dip, which I was not expecting at all and was consistently checking up on us, but not over-doing it (if you know what I mean). No wait time with a reservation. Loved the vibe inside. Sat at a table, but I can tell the bar experience is strong to quite-strong (some of you may get that reference lol). Definitely try it if you have the chance! You won’t regret it

Enjoyed the meal with my family tonight. Took our youngest daughter out for her 26th birthday and everything was wonderful, especially the service by Katie!

A friend had recommended the Pork Chop. I’m more of a steak guy, but I gave the Chop a try and it did not disappoint! Had the carrot cake for dessert and probably the best carrot cake ever. Will definitely be back.

The crab cakes that my wife and I had were the best ones we have ever had in life. All lump crab meat cooked just right. All of the remaining items we had were all very, very delicious. The carrot cake was over the top. The prices were not high considering how excellent the scratch food, service, and atmosphere were. We will definitely return and encourage others to dine there.

Came here to celebrate a birthday had a reservation for 6 but they were so kind to let us eat earlier. Our server was the sweetest and we had another guy who was shadowing her in training and he did a great job with being attentive. The steaks were ok not cooked medium well though, but seasoned well. I wish I could say they were the best I’ve had. Overall the service was great. Later foodies!

The Avocado bomb it’s amazing. The service is pretty good overall. The ribeye steak however didn’t impress for the high cost. It was quite dry even with the BBQ sauce as a medium-well steak. I’ll give it 3 star to the steak quality.

The salmon was delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The service was great too—everyone was friendly and quick. Nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. I’d definitely go back.

We went for my husbands birthday dinner. Hannah was our server. She was extremely knowledgeable, at times she seemed too busy and overwhelmed but always had a great attitude. The drinks took some time to arrive (our appetizer arrived first). We were very pleased with her service. Great job!!

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the ahi tuna with couscous. Every bite was amazing! My husband had the ribeye. The marinade on that steak needs to be sold in bottles. It was out of this world!

The issue
It was so loud in there. It was busy so I get that but it was so loud I couldn’t have a normal conversation with my husband. The restaurant is set up like a normal steakhouse. It is not quaint or “fancy” it’s just normal like an outback. This was disappointing. One would expect a $250 meal would be stress free and relaxing. This was not the case here.

We would return because the food and great service outweighs the terrible atmosphere but not on a weekend. We will try again on a slower day.

Overpriced and overcooked. Went here with my wife. We both ordered steak. No bread, no salad with steak entree. Connors is much better for the price.
