We really enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner here at J Alexander’s! The food was excellent especially the Steak and everyone enjoyed their meal. We started with fried calamari which was excellent as well as the salad wedges. The service was also excellent. Our waiter, Charles, was very attentive and very nice and everything came out quickly and perfectly. The atmosphere is also very nice. This is a great spot in the heart of Naples.

Me and a few friends are attending a conference in the area and we decided to go to J. Alexander’s yesterday because one of the ladies said the food was delicious.

When we arrived, the hostess was there with a smile and some conversation. She was a mature woman with a big personality and the plus was that we went back today and she remembered us.

We were quickly seated both days. Yesterday server was nice. I would give her a 7/10.

Today our server was Brandon and this guy did his thang . He was personable, he was friendly, he was knowledgeable, he was accommodating. Customer service at its best!

The restroom is clean and has a nice modern design.

The restaurant itself has a high-end look, the decor is beautiful and I love the seating arrangement.

The food is amazing and the portions are not shy. Everything was seasoned just right. The mac and cheese was scrumptious and I never order Mac and cheese when I’m out, but this had gouda cheese and I was intrigued.

I had the emerald shrimp the first day and the cilantro shrimp today and both were delectable.

Everyone enjoyed their food

I did order a mocktail (I don’t drink alcohol) and it refreshing. I was satisfied

We also had appetizers that was, as the young people say…litty

Definitely a place to visit, you won’t be disappointed.

This is your sign to book a reservation at this restaurant! I have gone here on dates and solo; and this review is a blend of all times as a customer that loves a great dining experience.

The food is a burst of flavor and they have some amazing dishes here. My opinion on what could improve the dishes is a bland/soft dish to balance out the amount of flavor in each bite. It can almost be too much clashing of flavors for the entree and sides.

I loved the meatball appetizers, the NY strip steak, palermo chicken, and even the burger. avocado tuna appetizer and Queso is delicious. Carrot cake can be a little too sweet personally but MELTS in your mouth! The chocolate cake is like fudge and is my favorite dessert by far. Just see for yourself what their menu offers at this point.

This restaurant takes pride in ensuring customers enjoy their meal and is constantly improving. I enjoy how private each table feels. You get checked in on often not just by the servers but by whoever is managing that evening. I highly recommend ordering from the wine selection; the Papillion red is amazing

The servers have been great and the ones I have gotten have done an exemplary job in showing the best of J Alexanders 🙂

Our server Garrett was awesome, fun & super efficient! We came in with our 2 friends- ordered ahi app, calamari, prime rib, salmon, Alex salad w/shrimp & fillet. Everything was great except our friends fillet arrived well done (she ordered it rare)- Garrett corrected the problem post haste & we all enjoyed our food- thanks for keeping up the high standards, much appreciated!

Let’s talk about J. Alexander’s, where I recently enjoyed the Cypress Salad and the Prime Rib … a combo that screams “I’m healthy… but not too healthy.”

The Cypress Salad was a pleasant surprise. The crispy chicken was actually crispy (a rare miracle in salad land), the avocado was ripe, and the ranch dressing hugged every bite like a Southern grandma. Crunchy pecans and smoky bacon turned what could’ve been a side dish into a star player. It’s comfort food disguised as a salad … and I’m not mad about it.

Then came the Prime Rib, a glorious slab of beef that reminded me why red meat still rules the table. Juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned …it melted under the knife like it had something to prove. The au jus was rich enough to be bottled and sold as cologne.

Service? Attentive. Atmosphere? Warm, modern, and classy without trying too hard.

Verdict: J. Alexander’s nails that sweet spot between upscale dining and down-home satisfaction.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Would absolutely return (and probably order both again).

Had an amazing experience at J. Alexander’s this afternoon thanks to Alli and Erin. Both were fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made everything feel effortless. They offered a small wine sample to try and served a perfect Blanton’s on the rocks.

Excellent service all around — the kind that really stands out and makes you want to come back just for them.

The food was very tasty! The Service, however, was lacking. Was there on a Sunday evening at 7 PM with a group of four people we sat outside. We asked for ice water with lemon. Server came back with four tall glasses of just water. We asked for ice and lemon. She came back out with four more glasses of ice in a whiskey glass and a plate of lemon lemons.(poured it ourselves) So our small table had eight glasses and one plate crowding the table. Our friend ordered calamari for an appetizer, and we casually spoke amongst ourselves on what we are having prior to the server arriving (Mentioning to just the table that we may share)
I ordered a salad and my boyfriend ordered a ribeye With the lack of communication/ Clarification from our server. The ribeye came out split for two people. We assumed she just overheard us. When we got our check, there was a charge to split the ribeye +$14?! $87 for an order of ribeye$48( was not a larger portion of meat Maybe a little bit extra mashed potatoes, but we could have ordered extra mashed potatoes for $6), A $14 salad and$10.50 For half the price of an appetizer split. Why was this never communicated to the table? Why did we have to have a table full of empty glasses and it was pulling teeth to ask for more water? Our friend ordered the special steak, medium, and it came out well. It was sent back and they came out with a regular steak cooked medium and not the special. Seems that there was a lack of professionalism and courtesy. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them. But for spending close to $200 for dinner, the expectations were higher for service. First time ever going there and will be the last time.

Charlie at J. Alexander’s is absolutely incredible! He went above and beyond by bringing us freshly made carrot cake, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. He also recommended the best salad with crispy chicken and peanut dressing, and it was chef’s kiss perfection.

His service was attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. You can tell he truly loves what he does and wants his guests to have an amazing experience. Charlie made our visit extra special, and we’ll definitely be asking for him every time we come back!

Last night my family enjoyed are Valentine’s Day dinner here. We started off with appetizers of fire roasted artichokes and the giant meatballs. It’s been a long time since I had artichoke and I really really enjoyed it and as for those meatballs, the next time I come I’m going to have to have some kind of pasta because the sauce was absolutely spectacular! For the main course my daughter was able to get chicken fingers – made from real fresh pieces of chicken breast not processed and hand-breaded but not overly so. My wife ordered a salad where she raved about it and even made me eat a crouton because she thought they were so so good I had to try it. She also ordered the filet mignon what’s a stuffed baked potato. The potato looked to be about 5 or 6 lb and I couldn’t even see the filet behind it from across the table. I wouldn’t call it bacon bits that it was topped with I would call them bacon chunks. It looks delicious but my wife never even touched it because she was so full from the appetizers and the salad. My standard Steakhouse order is the ribeye but because it’s sliced I didn’t want to go with that so I ordered the prime rib. I ordered the smaller size and I got this huge hunk of meat that was cooked perfectly and served with a mound of mashed potatoes that would have made Richard Dreyfuss sculpt for hours. On the menu I noticed that they listed “not your ordinary mac and cheese” so I couldn’t help myself; I had to order a side of that for us to share at the table. To say the portion sizes are generous is an extreme understatement. Like I said, my wife didn’t even touch her loaded baked potato, it didn’t even look like my daughter had any of her fries at all by the time she was done with her dinner (where she couldn’t even finish her last chicken tender either), and this is the first time in anybody’s recollection where I’ve left mashed potatoes on the plate and the mac and cheese came home with us practically untouched. All three of us were Thanksgiving-like full! Honorable mention to the amazingly delicious looking chocolate cake and ice cream that was delivered to the table next to us – it was definitely a sharing type of dessert because it was humongous. My wife said on our next visit will be having salad and dessert and that’s it. The restaurant itself is very aesthetically pleasing. I’m not really one for interior design but I have to say that I couldn’t help but look around at the wood and the ceilings and the light fixtures even. I enjoyed the art and the paintings that they had on display as well. The restaurant has a very pleasant and pleasing ambiance. Our server did a good job and two different managers came over to check on us and make sure that we were enjoying our meal – not in an annoying way but in a genuinely concerned way which was nice. We will absolutely be coming here again we had a fantastic experience

This is what Naples needed! A restaurant with a great atmosphere, super friendly and motivated staff, that shares a uniform look and is well trained. The prices are absolutely fine for what you get, because the food is really, really good. It is fresh and tasty. The glasses are super clean and the tab water does NOT taste like chlorine, like in soooo many other restaurants.
We will be back shortly.

Update over one year later:
I came back many more times. The last time was March 16. 25
They changed the menu.
While the service is still great, the food quality is slowly degrading. It is eatable without tasting great.
I would come back if I had to get some food, but without any excitement. I hope they can turn it around.
