Our server Alexander / AJ ? ( receipt said AJ ) was awesome. Very attentive server. Good was good. Ordered a bottle of Tattinger champagne for the table and was great. Ordered the grilled artichoke which was flavorful. Lot of food waste but that is the artichoke by design. Deviled eggs were good but need just a hint more flavor. Very nice contrast of cold eggs with the warm bacon on top. The doppelgänger drink was a nice one and hides the flavor of the bourbon so it definitely sneaks up on you.
We orders the prime rib which was flavorful and tender , not a stringy prime rib. Also orders the steak frites (steak and fries ) steak was tender and flavorful , not quite Berns steakhouse level but for a chain restaurant here it was good. Only critique is maybe having a peppercorn sauce with it like with some steak frites dishes.

Restaurant is five stars across the board. The food is amazing from the starter soup. I always recommend the chef soup when you come here. Of course the deviled eggs were deviled eggs and they’re always great. The steak has an excellent quality to it cooked and seasoned very well the mac & cheese is a must too for a side order and the service is exemplary. My server was Gabriel. This man is an amazing server. He went out of my way to take care of all my dietary needs very courteous, very professional, and I would definitely recommend him as a server when you come here. Also, the place is very clean. And just on a sidenote, all the servers are very courteous very professional friendly willing to answer questions. It’s really a great place to come to. You should definitely make a reservation because even on a Tuesday this place fills up very quickly.

Very impressed with this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The Hong Kong Shrimp was crispy and flavorful. And my favorite fries, shoe string, was crispy. My only ding would be that fries weren’t seasoned, no salt or seasoning on them. Don’t know if it was an oversight, but still good nonetheless. The Macaroni was okay, I felt it was missing something. My Husband didn’t care for the type of cheese used, but I still found it palatable.

The most important thing here is the food… I ordered the Alex salad as an appetizer. It was fresh, delicious, and cleaned the palate for the main course.
For my entre, I ordered the New York Strip that comes with their Shell Mac-n-Cheese; AMAZING!
My taste buds were overwhelmed with an explosion of flavorful perfection. I can’t recall having a more perfectly cooked and seasoned steak. I was taken back by how amazing the mac and cheese was. I didn’t know what to expect. It looked good, but what the first bite hit my taste buds my eyes opened wide with joy. It made me think of that scene in Ratatouille when Remy and his brother were struck by lightning. Remy described the cheese with much excitement as having a “lightninging flavor”.
The atmosphere is clean and nice, but there is a lot of people there so there’s a somewhat loud mix of conversations that may at first seem overwhelming. I was able to ignore it once my food arrived.
The staff seems attentive, no issues with my service today.

The server who attended to our group was one of the sweetest I’ve ever encountered. She was patient, attentive, and incredibly helpful with my indecisiveness, which I truly appreciated. I enjoyed my salmon sandwich; it was quite decent. The carrot cake was delicious and definitely worth trying. I would gladly return when visiting the Tampa area.

My first time eating here and I’d come back. Our server was great and had lots of patience with our big group.
I got the baked chicken and mashed potatoes, both were delicious. I got to taste the broccoli and I must say the flavor was exceptional.

This Branch of J Alexander’s provided a wonderful experience during my visit. We were assigned a attentive, funny and patient server. The dishes were perfectly portioned, especially for the price. The ambiance was calm, comfortable lighting accompanied by cozy seating options. Dessert was pretty phenomenal and had a homemade yet delicate presentation to it. Would definitely recommend persons to dine at this location.

First the fire grilled artichokes were the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve been cooking artichokes for the last 20 years. I had to ask how they cooked them and I found that the chef posted a video online. I would be making my artichokes this way, going forward. Second, the service was top-notch, very over the top and attentive. The prime rib and the mashed potatoes were phenomenal. I don’t think I’ve had a better meal in Tampa since moving back here just a little over a year and a half ago. I will definitely be coming back! And thank you for being open for lunch.

We had a wonderful experience! We went there for our anniversary and my MIL’s birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience great! Our waiter Liam was amazing; he made some fantastic suggestions. My husband got the ribs, my MIL got the shrimp and I got the trout. We also ordered drinks and dessert (warm carrot cake). Absolutely everything was incredibly delicious! We will be going back very soon!
