Tried Izzy’s and it did not disappoint! We had the Volcano Maki, T Otoro, Otoro, and a few other rolls. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. I also had a rice lager, which I typically don’t like, but this one was perfect. It was light, smooth, and didn’t pack too much of a punch like lagers usually do for me. Will definitely be back!

The sushi was incredible. Very fresh, very fatty, and very delicious. I tried the monkfish liver and the sashimi dinner, and I was not disappointed at all. The only negative mark I would give would be the wait time for orders, as I was seated for quite some time before getting my food. It was worth the wait, however, and I will be dining here again.

My food was delicious! Edamame hummus and garlic naan is a must get. Our waitress Anna was very nice and helpful, and the restaurant is pretty and cozy. Only thing is that they ran out of a lot of things. We were really excited to try the pork belly, but they were out today.

Best sushi, sashimi, and sake selection in Tallahassee!!! As someone who is Hawaii-raised & blessed to have had more fish than I could eat while in Japan, this is truly a fantastic place.
This place has a great izakaya, especially after work, atmosphere! A big highlight is the fish — completely odorless & super vibrant, indicating just how fresh it is. ⭐️
Despite only the chef & our server/bartender, Lillian, being present on a pretty busy Monday night, service was excellent. Lillian was more than fantastic at creating delicious drinks & providing amazing service while managing tables both inside and outside. She totally made our night!
We ordered the Large Loveboat alongside a few drinks to celebrate our anniversary, and just the quality of fish itself is worth every penny. The attached picture is just the specialty rolls! We were too excited to eat, we forgot about taking a picture of the boat itself lol! We could truly taste the skill, hard-work, and dedication of the chef. Side note, definitely order the Sake & Soda cocktail — I could literally drink those till I can’t anymore!
After our experience, we would not hesitate to try Izzy again, especially on Sunday when chef’s choice Omakase is served. Thank you for a wonderful experience! ⭐️

It’s a great lil pub with great sushi and really good customer service.. it was the 2 hour wait time for me. We got our drinks and ordered quickly, but it was down hill from there. I got my soup 10 minutes later but never got my appetizer. Then an hour and a half later we got our sushi and another round of drinks. The food was good but not so good I’m willing to wait that long again. The server tried to charge my card for another guest check but I only moved enough to cover my total $150.. not their total $350 so it declined on his end and my bank notified me on mine.. lol. Wasn’t mad just concerned that had I had that on my card, I’d have had to wait 2-5 days to get it back, smh. We might try them again one day, but it wouldn’t be anytime soon.

This place reminds me of a good Izakaya style Japanese bar! Menu isn’t extensive but what they make, they make very well! Great sake and craft beer selection too!
Every few months they have a 7-10 course tasting menu too with the chef that’s reservation only and VERY worth it!!

Wish I could provide a more accurate rating but after almost an hour waiting, we never actually got our food. They didn’t seem terribly busy and had multiple staff around that we saw. We had tickets to a play that started at 8 and decided to grab some dinner around 6-6:30 thinking that would be plenty of time to order, eat, and make it down the road on time. We got to Izzy’s around 6:15 and had ordered not long after. It did seem like the staff were relatively inattentive and we overheard another server tell a table he had dropped their entire order of drinks. We also think another table near us may have gotten up and left before their order arrived. By the time 7:10 rolled around we flagged down our waitress to ask for an eta on our food. She said there were still TWO TICKETS ahead of us and our two rolls had not been started yet. At no time did they inform us they were backed up or short staffed in any way, which I understand would cause a longer wait time. We told her to please go ahead and cancel our orders since we would be late to our event by the time the food came out. The waitress apologized but seemed surprised that we didn’t want to wait longer for our order. We ended up going thru the drive thru at whataburger, eating, and still make it to the play in time when we probs would still be waiting on the food at Izzy’s to come out. Would like to actually go back to try the food in the future but maybe when we have an entire evening available if we can get them to bring us our food.

Update:2026 i don’t know why we haven’t been here for so long.But it is so good! The fish is absolutely wonderful here.So fresh and so delicious. I highly recommend the love boat. And of course, the outdoor seating on a patio is my favourite!

This was a multicourse small dish presentation with the chef/owner and manager. Delicious bites of rare, high grade fish. Each piece carefully presented and explained.
We enjoy Izzy for sushi sometimes and have always been pleased. But thus was a whole extra level of excellence. Perfect for a very special celebration.

We got a tip from someone local, and it paid off big! Amazing sushi! Freshness, texture, and flavor were all on point. The pork belly was cooked to absolute perfection! The service was also wonderful. Beer and Sake selection were also great. We will be back!
