We recently had a good dinner at Izumi! For having recently opened, we thought they did a great job on presentations of dishes, and all of the fish was fresh. Several staff members made an effort to refill waters and see if we needed anything. Nice spot for casual dining and solid Japanese takeout!

Everything about this place was amazing. Started off with the dumplings which were so good. The sushi is top tier and very generous portion size and the hibachi was out of this world. Service was 10/10 very attentive and very nice, will definitely be coming back and would recommend to anyone that hasn’t been here before, you won’t be disappointed.

So happy we found this place!!! Great service and the best casual sushi I’ve had in Connecticut. I asked for a custom roll with lemon slices and they made it PERFECTLY. Delish, fresh fish with beautifully presented rolls. The staff were so nice too and checked in multiple times. Can’t wait to go back and recommend them to my friends and family! Oh, and I was shocked at how affordable this fresh and delicious sushi was!

Incredible experience. Food was out of this world. Service was incredible. They even decorated our plates. They noticed that our food was taking a little long to come out(wasn’t a problem for us) and gave us complimentary edemame and cake as well. 12/10 experience and I will be coming back soon.

Izumi is one of the best places in town!! The food is always amazing and yummy, and the service is amazing as well. the people are so welcoming and attentive. i would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a nice sushi dinner. my go to is the american dream roll. i go here almost every week i like it so much!

We arrived with a last minute reservation of 20 people—half of which was a youth hockey team. The staff was very welcoming and polite despite the chaos of children. They were accommodating and respectful without making us feel like too much of a nuisance.
We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to our local friends, as well as coming back after we play games locally.

So happy this place opened and it’s close to home! The food was excellent and the prices are so reasonable. My favorite was their dynamite salmon appetizer. I forgot to take a picture of it but I managed to take pictures of our rolls and sashimi. Looking forward to coming back!

Came here with a group of friends and our kids on a Friday night. The place isn’t entirely family or kid friendly. Definitely more of a 2-4 people kind of place or just take out. It’s super small and just not enough space for a big family.
Moving on to the food. It was actually veeeery good. I started off with the Sushi Sandwich and the sushi was super fresh, flavors were there and I definitely would go back just for this. I then ended with a NY Strip Hibachi Dinner and it was amazing. It was the right amount of sweetness you expect from a teriyaki sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly, veggies and fried rice were great.
The actual service was not the best. Not sure if it was a miscommunication between the staff to the chefs. As a group, there was a delay with the hibachi noodles and another hibachi dinner. It’s as if the kitchen never got it. They eventually brought the noodles for my friends but we cancelled the second dinner because we had already finished most of our meals.
All in all, I’d prob do take out and go on my way. The food was great but if this place was in a bigger location, they’d do great.
