I have been a customer at Izumi for many years. The food is consistently good. I have never had to wait for a table. The drinks are excellent. I prefer the Tokyo Bay. The service is excellent. The prices are reasonable.

The food is consistently good however their wait times are consistently a joke. When I order and they say wait 20 minutes for example I give them an extra 10 there’s no problem at all but if you’re ordering while there or not anticipating the delay it’s an issue. My 20-minute wait that I ordered in house for takeout turned into a 40 plus minute wait very quickly. I know staffing issues are an issue but those order times have to be adjusted prior to ordering…just know whatever they tell you to add time and plan accordingly. There’s currently an expectation versus reality issue surrounding that.

We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening around 5:30 pm, there were two tables occupied in the restaurant part, but at the hibachi tables it was empty. At about 7:00 p.m. when we were getting ready to leave, one more hibachi table filled up.

I love this place! I loved the food when they were open before Covid and even now with takeout. The woman who does the orders is so friendly and remembers everyone! I was sick once and had my mom pick up soup for me there and she asked if I was okay because it wasn’t my normal order!

We went there to have lunch… All of the other restaurants in this area are full of people sitting down and having lunch. But izumi is only open for takeout and you can’t even walk in the restaurant to give the order. The person taking the order is behind a plexiglass shield.
