It doesn’t get much better than this. We have been here several times and have not been dissatisfied at all. Everyone has been very nice and polite. Our waiter/waitress has always been prompt with refills and keeping the table clear and clean. Sushi and buffet hibachi has a vast variety to eat. There is also a bar with raw food you can pile on a plate and give to a cook to cook fresh. (Not shown). With the exception of overcooked calamari, the food has always been delicious. Definitely recommend eating here!

For an all you can eat $20 Asian buffet, the food is wonderful. The fish is fresh, they have such a variety of different sushi and rolls, a variety of other cooked foods if raw isn’t your thing. They have a resident hibachi chef as well if you want that too. I love coming here whenever I want sushi, it makes everywhere else feel so inferior knowing I can just come here and get great food for a low price. Would 100% recommend to anyone in the area.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Augusta! You really can’t beat a sushi buffet, and I always have a great experience when I am here. Their staff are very friendly, there is a great vibe in the place, and the food is just a tad too good! I always eat too much! 5 stars!

The service was great!! The staff was super friendly and helpful. As you first walk in, the restaurant has a fun, Asian feel with mood lighting however, it is in need of some updates and repair. The sign on the outside of the building is gone showing marks of a prior sign. There are signs on most of the food items that are very faded and difficult to read, especially for the sauce table and the hot food items.

The sushi and sashimi were quite good and they were making them fresh there, as well as the Mongolian grill items, which were my favorite though there was a lot of oil added. The ice cream is labeled mochi ice cream, which it was not and it all looked quite old with signs of all of it thawing and refreezing which causes visible separation in the individual cups. The food on the hot table was decent, but much of the meat was pretty dry and many did not have much flavor.

We came right at 5:00pm when it opened for the dinner gour. It had been closed from 3-5 after lunch. When we walked up, there was food on the sidewalk that looked messy, the restroom smelled nice but it was also not clean and the dining area was fine. I was surprised that things had not been picked up a bit in the time between lunch and dinner.

If the price was less, the other things would it matter as much but the cost for dinner is $20.50 per person per person. For me, if I am going someplace to pay that much, I expect that it will be a bit more fancy and I’m good repair. Making a few updates on the interior and keeping areas clean during service would enhance the atmosphere and the over all dining experience. Also, keeping the hot foods heated a bit better and ensuring they are not overcooked.

Izumi Japanese Buffet is commonly known as a sushi buffet, which is one of the things it is. They also have a hot food line that has Chinese-type food along with some eclectic items. Finally, they have a Hibachi station where you can pick what you want (meats and vegetables) and a chef cooks it. But the most space is allocated to sushi.

Now this may seem odd – I don’t eat raw fish, and there are still plenty of types of sushi there that I like – vegetarian and cooked seafood. The other three people I usually go with love sushi of all types and love to go there. Everything I’ve had from the hot bar has been good, and one of our party recently tried the Hibachi bar and said it was the best choice in the restaurant.

It’s a very casual place – don’t worry, as long as you’re dressed, they’ll let you in. The buffet is about $25 apiece with a soft drink. Kids are welcome, but there have never been so many there that they’re obtrusive in my experience.

I gave service as a four because like most oriental places I’ve been, they pester you to take your used dishes. Also, since it’s a buffet, there’s not a lot for them to do except bring drinks and refills. And I gave atmosphere a 3. I mean, it’s a fairly inexpensive buffet; what do you expect?

It’s a staple for my group. We like it there, and everybody finds something they like. Personally, I recommend it.

Food was varied, something for everyone. They have all kinds of sushi. There’s desserts and ice-cream. I loved it. The wait staff stayed on top of clearing your used dishes so you could go back for more. Parking is plentiful and there’s handicapped parking and the building is easy to access.
Well worth another visit.

Food was good – no complaints there. My husband and I both had sushi. But the place was nasty!!! Food caked on the edges of the refrigerators, crud on all the decorations. Just absolutely nasty. Everything gave me the creeps – in particular because we were eating uncooked fish. BUT – I did not get sick and the freshness as far as taste seemed spot on. The waitress checked on us, but spent most of her time sitting in a booth with fellow employees. Still, our needs were simple and she met them sufficiently. So my review reflects the taste and quality of the food. Service = nothing out of the ordinary. Atmosphere – terrible. I personally won’t make a trip there again. I listed quiet because no one was there other than us. Not sure how it would be were it to be busy.

This our favorite buffet! I have nothing bad to say! Full sushi buffet bar. Hibachi included with buffet, always cooked perfectly. Other options on the buffet as well. Desert section and some soups. Fancier options at dinner time, the price goes up a little then, but they have fresh oysters on the half shell and steak kabobs during dinner. The food is always super fresh and delicious. Clean establishment. 10/10 We go everytime were in Evans

When your hungry…come and visit this place. Worth every dime of your money. Lots of food choices to chose from. A bit crowded on a Sunday noon after church but they manage it good. The servers are attentive to us making sure drinks are refilled. We have been coming to this place for years now. Price is so reasonable. The manager is polite and have my request granted. Thank you.

I had a very disturbing experience during lunch today.

There was a live roach crawling directly on a plate of salmon sushi. I was shocked. One staff member tried to grab it, but I couldn’t tell if it was actually caught. I asked that the affected sushi be thrown away, as there was clearly a high chance of contamination beyond just that one plate.

Unfortunately, I was dining with a guest and did not want to cause a scene, so I calmly spoke to the manager/owner instead. His response was simply, “I don’t know,” which was very concerning and dismissive given the seriousness of the situation.

What made it worse was noticing the overall cleanliness of the space. My child pointed to the ceiling vents, and when I looked up, I saw visible black mold around multiple vents. This raises serious concerns about sanitation and air quality.

Restaurants have a responsibility to maintain proper hygiene to protect public health. This place clearly needs immediate sanitation improvements. For health reasons, this will be my last visit.
