Food was great. I didnt take many pics because the one platter was all we got and was full. Service needs some tweaking, but I can understand the wait because this place was so busy and crowded, Covid ready if you asked me. The ambience was too loud and no privacy to enjoy your meal and conversation with the person next to you.
It needs a minor upgrade, it literally looks like a hole in the wall with a lot of tables and chairs and bland walls.

Dumplings were fantastic, good size portion and perfect texture. The Kiss of Fire sushi roll was quite a bit smaller than I expected for $16, and it wasn’t nearly as spicy as I expected with the double pepper label on the menu. The staff were very helpful and provided quick service.

LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! i come at least once a week the food is delicious and there’s so many choices!! the staff is super kind and always accommodating with our request super worth the price for how much we eat haha. i recommend the salmon/yellowtail jalapeño appetizer as well as the squid salad!!

Walked in with low expectations. You hear “sushi buffet” and think soggy rice, dry fish, and sad soy sauce.
But Izumi flips the script.
The quality? Surprisingly solid. The fish was fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and presentation clean. Standouts included the buttery hamachi, rich unagi, bright maguro, and tender squid all plated like you paid double for it.
The selection? Better than expected. Not just the basics. They rotate premium cuts, and nothing sat out too long. Impressive for a buffet.
Service? Spot on. Fast, friendly, and attentive without hovering.
Verdict? Not just “good for a buffet.” It’s just good. Period. Would recommend and return.

Very good! Miso soup was delicious and dumplings were good! We enjoyed it very much. My friend’s sushi wasn’t her favorite. But the steak hibachi noodles were amazing!

Absolutely delicious! We had all you can eat lunch. My husband had chicken hibachi, he said it was good. I had 5 different sushi rolls. I highly recommend the sweet potato with eel sauce. I devoured that one!

My boyfriend and I have been coming to the Izumi locations in Fargo for about a year. This is our favorite spot.. however, it has slowly become harder to enjoy our dinners here. We normally come around 8:45-9 for all you can eat. We try to get in an hour before the doors close which is also 30 mins before kitchen closes (kitchen closes at 9:30). We always get the same thing and know what we want. In the past 3 visits we have felt rushed. We have also been stared at the whole time we have been eating. Every time we would look up the host and our server (who we have almost every time) would be staring at us from across the room making us feel like such an inconvenience even though we try to be as considerate to the business and their hours as possible. As people who have worked in hospitality, tips are never just given, they are earned. Our service has been sub par recently. We have been glared at from across the room, cleaned in front of with loud vacuums in our faces, not a check in on how the food is, and rushed to pay the bill recently. Personally I don’t feel like tips should be given when we feel like we are not welcomed and everyone appears to want to go home. We left our most recent visit at 9:30 which is 30 mins before close. As soon as we stood up, the host and server bolted to our table to clear our stuff. We felt frustrated and felt like just another dollar to their business instead of treated us like customers. We love the food, but the service and workers make us feel terrible for coming in to eat. There are hardly any smiles. no excitement, and bland interactions. We will be back only because of the food, but a heads up for those who want a welcoming environment… this place might not be the best fit.

Great food, clean restaurant, quick and kind service. Best Sushi in the FM area. Place is highly demanded, but wait is typically minimal. Hibachi is flavorful and portions are exactly what you expect.
