Izanami is the restaurant of 10000 waves resort and spa. It is a sophisticated place that has, as a specialty, an enormous variety of sakes. Besides that, the food is exquisite in quality and taste, all in a great atmosphere. The setting and the views from the restaurant are beautiful. They expanded it to an outside covered area. Even though they forgot to bring a couple plates that we ordered, they honored that mistake by treating us to a free delicious dessert. Mistakes happen, but they owned it an acted accordingly. Great place, highly recommended.

Was able to snag a last minute reservation at the bar by calling the restaurant and when we arrived we asked to see if any tables opened up for regular seating. The gentleman at the hostess desk was so nice and was able to seat us a table in the outside dining structure. From the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere we had the best experience! Highly recommended to anyone local and visiting!

The food was amazing, and the unbeatable atmosphere made it an evening to remember. The sake selection was daunting, but the flight helped us select a great pairing. The sushi was fresh and perfect. The avocado cucumber salad was great, as well as some of the hot dishes. Bottom line, I don’t think you can get a bad meal here if you tried.

We had an amazing experience here after the spa next door. The food was great and they had plenty of vegetarian options. The portion size was small, but the food itself was delicious. We highly recommend the cucumber and avocado salad.

I could go on and on about this restaurant! Amazing smells great you when you walk in, the servers and hosts welcome you as you make your way to your seat. Our waiter was incredibly nice, funny, and informative, even showing pictures of the places he went in Japan a week and a half prior. He also knew a lot about sake, recommending sakes and telling us everything possible there is to tell. The food was incredible, flavorful and filling. The best way to eat at Izanami is to share, and that’s what we did. Overall, this experience was unmatched and I hope to visit in the future!

We came here for lunch after a private bath and had some of the best food of our lives! Atmosphere is amazing, quiet with beautiful scenery. Service is fast, knowledgeable, friendly and personal. We went with another couple and shared everything, burger, chirachi bowl, rice balls, pork belly tacos, everything was incredible, I can’t say enough good about the experience here. It was amazing, we’ll worth the money, such a treat and an experience.

Overall, had a great, delicious experience here. I did get recommended this place from a friend and she described it as life changing- eh wouldn’t go that far, but very very good. My favorites were the mushrooms, sesame noodles, the avocado and cucumber salad, and sashimi. The pork ribs were good too, but my friend liked them more than I did. Got the gyoza and it was just ok- the mole sauce they served with it was off putting and the gyoza itself didn’t have much flavor. Overall, I would totally go back and see what other yum yums I could discover!

After our time at the spa we had dinner at the restaurant that we had pre booked and reserved seating outside ahead of time. I’d give 3 stars for dinner – 5 star for excellent atmosphere by the mountains and spa with indoor and outdoor seating. 3 stars for lackluster guest service and food that was not authentic. The guest service was busier – water needed to be refilled but wasn’t though the server said they would. The server could have done a better job in explaining the menu options.
