This is easily landing on the top of my favorite Tampa restaurants. It’s an unassuming restaurant from the outside (but don’t let that fool you!) located across LA Fitness off Dale Mabry. The atmosphere was cute and authentic. The food was even better. I was SO impressed with the food. They have an expansive menu offering many delicious items. The food did not lack in flavor. I had many tasty dishes which I featured in my pics. I will be returning many, many times as there’s so much to try. TIP: parking is limited and challenging so if coming for lunch, try to arrive before opening time. Otherwise parking is whatever you can find around in the neighborhood or behind the building.

Packed on a Saturday night but we only had to wait 15 mins for two people without a reservation. Amazing Japanese Izakaya food. Everything we ordered was fantastic except the corn wasn’t really a flavor we enjoyed. Others might! The skewers were fantastic and came out super quick. Service was awesome, she recommended her favorites and helped us decide. Would definitely return. It also is not inexpensive…so be prepared to pay for the specials and quality of the food. We didn’t mind and felt like the value for quality was there.

This was our first time visiting, and we really enjoyed our meal. We could not decide what to get, so we ordered a variety of items. The kimchi conch and taro chips with guacamole were unique and tasty. The skewers and oysters were great as well. We had great service and a nice atmosphere.

We just got back from Japan a week ago and this made it feel like we never left! Food is amazing! Highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. They have super friendly chefs (don’t forget to tip for good service) and the waitresses are amazing and helpful! Will be back again!

Generally pretty good experience here, despite a bit of a wait. It is worth joining the waitlist – you can order drinks while you wait. Their skewers are nice and flavorful. I enjoy trying the special menu items they have periodically. Mentaiko fries are amazing. Servers and staff are very friendly. Atmosphere feels authentic for an izakaya.

I had a truly delightful experience at this establishment. The service provided was exceptional, and the culinary offerings were nothing short of extraordinary. Despite visiting on a Tuesday evening, the wait time was only approximately 20 minutes, which was quite reasonable. Among my favorites were the Shiso Rangoon, the Dancing Crab Roll (the roll pictured without the chip on top) and the Chicken Fried Rice. Also pictured are the Garlic Butter Shrimp and the Fantasy Roll.

This place feels like a hole in the wall you’d find in New York. Parking is limited so plan to spend some time looking on a busier evening. There is a wait list with text messaging if the location is full. We visited from Miami and enjoyed a variety of items on the menu. Everything tasted so flavorful. The beers we ordered were cold and delicious too. The only thing we didn’t think was phenomenal was the tiramisu dessert, it was just ok. The green tea ice cream in it was a little freezer burnt, but next time I’d try one of their hot desserts.

The skewers were my favorite! They come out right away after they are made. I love how affordable this quaint place is and the raw fish was delicious. All the employees are kind! The only downfall is the parking.

The staff is amazing and the bussers were lightning fast, as they immediately cleaned any table that got up. Food was very yummy and brought out quick. The environment was welcoming, but does tend to get a little hot due to the amount of people in the restaurant. When the parking lot in the back of restaurant gets full, do not be tempted to park at the “Press Box” parking lot as they are petty and will tow/ticket any Izakaya Tori customers. I guess they have some sort of tension between them, because Izakaya Tori has a person that is dedicated to making sure that you don’t park in the wrong spot. He is very respectful and patient as he doesn’t want your car to be towed. Press Box on the other hand, has hired a person to keep watch of anybody who crosses the street and makes sure that their car is “dealt with accordingly”. Besides the hassle for parking, this place is great.
