Worth every penny, which thankfully was a very reasonable price (p.s. cash only). The sushi was extremely fresh, the karage and teriyaki chicken were so moist and tender. The service was friendly and attentive. The vibe was a total bonus, it was what I imagine being in Japan feels like. I love this hidden gem and will definitely be returning.

How cute are there check presenters! DVD cases, LOVE

This place is amazing and deserves way more recognition. The black garlic ramen is my favorite ramen in NYC (and I’ve tried plenty of ramen all around the city) and the takoyaki is the best I’ve ever had, period. I’ve been there with my girlfriend twice, and they always deliver. Highly recommended.

Came here for lunch with two friends.
We ordered three entrées, Unagi Don, Chirashi Don and some more.
The place is cozy and well designed very authentic.
The food came out fast.
Overall everything was delicious.

Also the bill comes in a dvd box, found it amusing.

Definitely my favorite restaurant for Japanese food in Jackson Heights. It’s a cozy, relaxed place with great tunes and vibes. The food is always delicious and the sushi is always fresh I come here whenever I can. Dining in is cash only so be prepared before you arrive, though there is an ATM nearby.

MENTAI NOODLES hands down the best ever. All carbs and worth every bit of it. The main reason we keep coming back to this spot and also tasting their other platters is a great experience.

Karaage Chicken is a good app along with the Kani Salad. It’s light and delicious.

I came back after a year and it was even better than the first time. The food was amazing rich, flavorful ramen, perfect karaage, and a cold Asahi beer that tied everything together. The atmosphere and service really make you feel like you’re in Japan, a truly authentic izakaya experience. I had a great time and will definitely be back.

It’s surreal, coz everyone in the dinning is Thai, even the server are Thai, yet they serve a great not good but great Japanese food. I have to met the Chef. Amazing food! They just have to learn more on Japanese terminology.
Example they have Toki highball and I ask Toki on the rocks instead the server told me that the highball is the brand name, and I keep insisting that Toki is the Japanese Whisky, and when I ask for Togarashi, they said I have to order. so I said can i order, then they come back they don’t have it on the Menu. and then my husband order a Asahi Super Dry, they don’t know the Super Dry. These are small things, but sometimes need to taken cared of, Anyhow, it makes me deel back to Izakaya in Tokyo, only people are speaking Thai not Nihongo. But still loved the whole vibe! Congratulations guys and good luck. wish you more success.

Izakaya Fuku in NY is very different from what you usually expect when it comes to Japanese food. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with an urban vibe walls covered in graffiti, hanging lights, a jukebox playing music, and even chairs made out of beer crates with cushions on top. It’s a unique concept that feels casual but very enjoyable.

The service is good and the food is definitely worth trying. Their sushi is served as a type of nigiri over a bed of rice, with great flavor overall. The only one I personally didn’t enjoy was the fish roe sushi since it had a strong cod-like taste, but everything else was excellent. The classic ramen was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. I also have to highlight their house-made soy sauce it’s outstanding and really elevates the experience.

The only downside for me is that the place is cash only. I don’t think this adds to the concept, and instead it takes away a bit from the overall experience in such a modern and authentic spot.

Overall, I do recommend Izakaya Fuku if you want to enjoy Japanese food in a very different, urban setting with great flavors and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
